mjovie takes me back to my world and i let out a breath. i look over the golden railing on the stairs, taking it in one last time.

i walk down the stairs and rush over to my bedroom where i find seb and kourtney lying on my couches.

"hey!", kourtney smiles.

they can tell something is off with me because they immediately stand up and come over to me.

"what happened?", seb asks, resting a gentle hand on my shoulder, "was it ricky?"

i shake my head, biting my lower lip, "no actually um...ricky and i kissed. and...confessed our feelings for each other."

they widen their eyes with excitement and start hugging me and screaming loudly to cheer. they're running around my room with joy before arriving back in front of me.

"but why do you look so sad?", kourt questions with concern while also catching her breath.

"because i wasn't sure how this would work out you know? i'm a ghost and he's a lifer. i completed my task for him so i can't see him anymore right? but then jovie showed up and-"

i feel my voice shaking a little at the thought of having to leave my best friends. we've been here for so long together. we've never left each other's side.

"and what?"

"she uh- she told me she has the magic to give me my life back. and she said i can live my life now with ricky..."

i can see the fear and disappointment in their eyes for a couple seconds before it turns to joy.

"please tell me you said yes.", seb firmly says, "you've always wanted to find your love and...you finally have. take it. don't worry about us."

i feel my eyes watering and i nod my head, "i said yes. i have to say goodbye and pack some stuff though."

they both hug me. i hold onto my matching charm bracelet that i have with them. i press my lips together and they help me pack some clothes and decorations i've kept in my room.

once we finish, i zip up my bag and we plop down on my couches, spending my last hours together.

it's been a few hours so it's nearing ten at night which means i need to leave. i say goodbye to my best friends once more before heading to the lobby with water in my eyes. i see haven standing with her mom and i go up to her. i know she already knows where i'm headed because i see her glossy eyes. she hugs me tightly and i wrap my arms around her, feeling a couple tear drops roll down my face.

"thank you for everything you've done for me haven.", i breath out, "i love you so much and will never forget you."

"i'm going to miss you.", she cries, wiping her eyes.

i kiss her head before jovie takes my hand and we walk to the golden doors.

"okay ready?", she asks.

i hug her tightly, feeling a whirlwind of bittersweet emotions. i wipe my eyes to hide the water pooling.

"thank you for this...experience. you've been nothing but incredible to me and my friends. i'll never forget you...or this place. take care of my friends please. thank you again.", i tell her.

"we'll miss you nini", she smiles, "i hope you follow the path and live the life that you never had."

she grasps my hand and i grasp my suitcase. i shut my eyes and feel the magic inside me. for the last time i feel the cool, white mist and sparkles falling all around. i feel old magic i had leaving my body and new magic entering.

soon i'm set down in the same apartment building and i look around. i see someone walking down the hallway and they nod their head at me.

i smile at them and then turn to face the wall with a giant grin.

it worked.
