"Wake up Enid." I whispered, gently tugging at Enid's shirt, trying to wake her up. She opened her eyes and shut them immediately as they were not used to the faint light in the room.
"What?" she asked, annoyed at the fact that I woke her up. She slowly started opening her eyes.
"The sun is about to rise. Come on!" I said quietly and started waking up the other girls as well. They got up and took a few blankets after which we all went outside. Wednesday was still on the balcony with her eyes glued to the sky. It's true that it was dark when we kissed but I swear I saw a tiny smile appear on her face when the kiss ended. When we got on the balcony, I looked at Wednesday and I could still see the corners of her mouth slightly curved upwards. Smiling really suits her.
I sat down with the girls and waved at Wednesday to come under my blanket again. She looked at the girls to make sure they weren't paying attention and then she slowly scooched next to me. We sat there, all five of us, watching the sunrise. I think Enid was the only one that didn't get a kiss tonight.
(Wednesday's POV)
"I know who it is!!!" Enid screamed in my ear.
"Enid, my ears are close to bleeding. One note higher and only dogs will be able to hear you." I say. "You know what about who?"
"I know who the girl from your dream is!" she said excitedly. Thank god she didn't scream it this time as well.
"Who is it?" I asked trying to look nonchalant. I'm really good at masking my feelings, that's why Enid can't tell that my insides are bursting with fear. She doesn't know what she is talking about, right? She can't possibly know.
Enid got closer to my ear and whispered. I suddenly stopped walking. She knows. I then realized my behavior might give it away so I continued walking like nothing happened.
"It's not her." I said.
"Wednesday, even with your blank expression on I can tell when you are lying. I've known you long enough. And plus, I've seen her look at you while you were writing and I saw you look at her while she was watching a movie. You guys took too long in the bathroom and I heard her get up from the bed when you went to the balcony together. I am a cat after all, I know everything." she laughed. I grabbed her by her shoulder and pushed her inside the women's bathroom. I placed both my hands on her shoulders, pressing down on them as I looked sharply into her eyes.
"Enid, if you tell a single soul about this I will sew you a scarf out of a dead raccoon's skin and give it to you for Christmas." I say, gritting my teeth at her. My method of scaring Enid worked. It always does. Dead animals are her weakness.
Enid slowly recovered from what I just told her and her senses came back to her as she started asking me questions. We went back to the hallway, walking to class as I listened to all of Enid's stupid questions.
"What happened on the balcony?" I didn't reply. "Come on Wednesday! I already know the best part of it, this can't beat it." It is true that I already told her the important things.
"We kissed." I said.
"This definitely beats it! Who kissed first?" she asked. I never knew that was an aspect that mattered.
"I did." I said as we walked into the classroom. I went to my seat and Enid to hers. Even if the class was big, I could still hear her squeals of excitement.
At lunchtime, we went to the Pentagon to eat our food, Enid still not done with her useless questions.
"How long was the kiss?"
"2 minutes and 33 seconds." I stated and sat down at a table. "But who's counting?"
"Oh shoot, I forgot my phone in the classroom. I'll be back in a minute!" Enid ran back into the school.
I started eating my food. It was disgusting: chicken soup with an excessive amount of oil, a dry bagel, an almost-rotting red apple and a small juice box. Right then, I felt someone approach me from behind.
"Can I just get one minute of-" I turned around to see Vera. Her smile was wider than usual. It was unsettling.
"Hey fellow night sky enjoyer." she said while sitting down in front of me. "So I was thinking maybe we can go to Jericho later today. How does that sound?"
"If you're taking me to Weathervane, I won't go." I said.
"No, no. I was thinking of somewhere more... romantic?" She looks cute when she's shy. I mean, she doesn't. "I was thinking it would only be appropriate now that we're a... couple." she wasn't sure of what she was saying.
"How about we go out first and then we can call it something." I say, keeping my blank expression. I just know that drives her crazy.
"What did I miss? Oh... Hi Vera!" Enid smirked and sat down next to me, hitting me with her elbow. If she were Pugsley, she would be on the floor by now. Luckily for her, she's not. After a couple of minutes, another unfortunate soul joins us at the table: Xavier. He sits next to Vera.
"Wednesday, how's the phone working?" he said.
"Wednesday Addams has a phone?" Vera acts shocked. Xavier turns to look at her, only then acknowledging her presence.
"Who's this normie?" He asks, pointing at her while looking at me and Enid.
"Excuse me? I'm a dream walker." Vera says.
"More like a scarecrow." Xavier says quietly. Everybody heard it. Vera smacks his manbun and Enid bursts out laughing. I sketched a little smile. It felt weird.
"What is that? Stop it." Enid joked and got up from the table. "I'm going to class. Behave children!" She said and left.
"I should go too. Bye normie, bye Wednesday! Still waiting for that text by the way." never going to happen.
Me and Vera also got up. She took both out trays and helped me clean the table.
"So it's a date?" she asked.
"I suppose you can call it that." I answer.
