I Kissed Her?

Wednesday slowly zipped up my dress. I turned around to look at her once she was done. The moment was pretty tense and the silence was louder than ever. I just had to break it with my stupid laugh. I couldn't stop, she just looked so funny in the dress. For the first time, Wednesday's blank eyes had a little bit of depth to them, not just two empty, black circles following me around. But that soon disappeared as I started laughing. I ruined the whole moment.

"I'm sorry! You just look so stupid in the dress!" I said while laughing.

"Just zip me up and let's get out of here." she said and turned around. I placed a hand on her hip for support and used my other hand to zip up her dress.

"Why are you so cold?" I asked. Wednesday turned her head around to look at me.

"It's my personality." And with those words, she left the bathroom. Everybody else was already waiting for us in the room.

"Come on, what took you so long?" Enid said and waved to me to come join them. Enid had marked the floor with tape that signified the runway and at the end of the runway was a square made out of tape that showed where the audience would sit. We all sat in the audience and Enid told us the order we would go on stage.

Yoko stood up as she was first. She put on her best show with both her hands on her hips. Of course she had to do a bunch of dramatic poses. We were all clapping and cheering and then she came back and sat down. I looked at Wednesday. She was staring in disgust. Next was Divinia. She stood up, did her thing, spun around a few times and sat back down. Next came Enid. Her dress was obviously too big for her and she looked goofy as shit. She tripped on the dress but caught herself before she fell and she continued walking like nothing happened. I was next. I stood up in my purple dress. They all looked terrible but my dress looked the best. I did my walk, nothing special and I sat back down. Enid saved best for last. Wednesday stood up and with her blank expression on, she did the best model walk ever seen to man. Looking dead is pretty fashionable in the model industry.

After we were done, Enid suggested we stay in them as long as we could but the dresses were too itchy and uncomfortable so we all went to change. Wednesday and I had our backs turned to each other.

"We need to talk." I said. Wednesday stopped what she was doing and she turned around to look at me and I did the same.

"We only talked a few times and yet, you act like I did something bad to you. If it's about the diary, I-"

"It's not the diary." she interrupted me.

"Ok... What is it then?"

"You said I would stop having visions and dreams about you."

"I only said you will stop having visions. I can't control your dreams." I explained.

"You're a dream walker." she stated.

"We're called dream walkers because "dream" is a more common and easy word to use. It's confusing, I know. But, wait. You had a dream about me?" I asked.

"Yes." She said and turned around to continue dressing up. She looked kind of embarrassed. I grabbed her shoulder and turned her to look back at me. Seeing her uncomfortable look, I took my hand off.

"Wednesday, what was the dream about?" I asked. She looked at me like she was about to tell me, but then she said:

"I don't trust you. Plus, you are invading my privacy. I could tell you to go ask the last person that invaded my privacy about what I did to them, but they can no longer speak." She said and turned around. What was she hiding? What did we do in the dream? Did I kill her or something? I had to make her tell me.

"I had a vision last night. You were in it." This made Wednesday stop. "I said the Latin thing in my ritual and I had a vision with my ancestress. She told me that you are the key."

"The key to what?"

"To controlling my visions." Wednesday turned around. She looked at me, the deep look she had on earlier today came back. She looked so intrigued and like she actually cared about the situation. We were standing pretty close to each other. This is the closest I'll probably ever be to her. I don't care if it's "true love". I don't care if it's even love at all. I just really want to kiss her right now.

"Guys come on-... Sorry! Hurry up, we're watching a movie." Enid interrupted. Now that Enid was gone and the door was closed, I thought we could finish what we started, but Wednesday had other plans. She was already out the door by the time I turned my head back. This girl.

I come out, something Wednesday should try doing, and I go to Enid's bed where they were all sitting and watching the movie "The Kissing Booth".

"Four years later and this movie is still the worst." Yoko complained.

Wednesday was writing on her typewriter. I got up from the bed and slowly walked over to her. I placed my hands on her chair, stopping her from writing.

"I told you about my vision. Now you tell me about yours." I said.

"It was a dream, not a vision."

"Whatever. Please tell me. I need to know. If you're the key to controlling my visions, maybe your dream would help.

"It won't." she said without looking at me. She started writing on her typewriter again. I swear sometimes she's doing it just to annoy me.

"Fine! You keep writing on your typewriter, but just know that your dream might solve this vision mystery!" I said while walking away when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turn around to see Wednesday holding a piece of paper. Her blank expression was back again, but it's better to see that than to not see her face at all.

I took the piece of paper and read it. It was explaining her dream, but it wasn't very detailed.

"I went to your dorm and you let me in. You said you needed help with something and then you kissed me." I kissed her?

I kissed her?
