What Couples Do

Girlfriends.

It feels weird to be in a relationship and I've only been in one for a day. Tomorrow is Friday again so it means I have the whole weekend to spend with my new girlfriend.

I wake up to my loud alarm ringing. I always make sure it's at max volume so Enid can also wake up. Wednesday can wake up whenever she wants, she doesn't need an alarm but she doesn't bother to also wake up Enid. 

"I'm already up you sucker!" I heard Enid's voice from behind the thin wall separating our rooms. How did she manage to wake up? Maybe it's her animal instinct telling her she needs to pee.

I get ready quicker than usual, excited to see Wednesday. I hope now that we are in a relationship, it won't be so awkward talking to her. I grab my bag and go to Enid's dorm. I bang on the door in a pattern that Enid has taught me. She said it could be our "inside joke". The door opened and instead of Enid being behind it, it was Wednesday.

"Hello Vera." she said sharply. Did I do something wrong? This is Wednesday Addams, of course I did something wrong!

"Hi Wednesday." We stand there, in front of each other, not knowing what to say or do. Wednesday goes in for a hug which I don't resist.

"Aww, you guys are so cute!" Enid squealed from her side of the room. Wednesday broke the hug, her scent remaining on my clothes. She always smells fresh and good but I've never seen her put on perfumes of any kind. It's a mixture of faint lavender and a comforting smell that doesn't really smell like anything I've smelled before, but it's very good.

They both come out of their room and we start walking to our classes, Enid blabbering about whatever like she always does.

"So I was thinking we could go to Jericho on Sunday and have some fun." she said. My attention sprung from Wednesday to her.

"We have homework." Wednesday stated.

"No we don't!" said Enid. "Stop making up excuses! It's time for you to go out, see the sunlight! You do remember what that looks like, right?" Enid joked.

"Last time I went out I ended up falling for a boy that turned out to be a psychopathic killer that was controlled by one of our teachers." Wednesday shot back at Enid.

"Last time you went out you had your date with me! And it's totally on you for falling for him." I said. "Who else is coming?" I went back to Enid.

"Well, us three, I also invited Xavier and..." 

"That's enough." I said. "Four Nevermore students in a normie town all at once is enough." I said. Enid made a sad face. She was going to invite Yoko but I knew that would be too much for Wednesday.

"Fine, if you say so... See you after school!" Enid said and left.

"Bye Vera." Wednesday said and left as well.

I feel like I'm in a relationship with myself. Wednesday is barely trying. It's only been one day, but I'm totally freaking out. Do I need to do more? I want to see her all the time and go on dates and hang out and I just can't seem to get enough of her. Ever since she appeared in my vision I knew she is going to change something in me. I am thinking all of this while walking down the hallway to go and change in my dorm. The day is over and I'm bored as shit.

Suddenly I feel a hand grabbing me by my shoulders and dragging me to the bathroom. Was I getting kidnapped? Who is taking me and why to the bathroom? What do I tell Wednesday? What would she think when she finds me laying one the floor with my limbs chopped up and tooth picks in my eyes?

I managed to escape the person's grip. I turned around to see no one other than my own girlfriend. 

"Wednesday! What the fuck!" I yelled.

"I'm sorry, I wanted to talk to you but Enid kept chasing me around." She said.

"So you kidnapped me? I literally thought I was going to die." I cried out.

"You are overreacting. I wanted to... ask you something." Wednesday suddenly became shy. "So now that we are a... couple... I thought maybe we can go tonight behind the greenhouse."

I burst out laughing at her words. Does she even know what she is saying?

"Ok... And what are we going to do behind the greenhouse?" I laughed at her.

"Make out." She stated in a serious tone. Ok, I didn't expect her to know that that is what the place is used for. "What, you think I wouldn't know?" She asked. "We are dating after all, and it would only be fair if we did more of this stuff. I surprisingly enjoy kissing even though I am completely grossed out when my parents do it. Maybe I enjoy it because the one that I am kissing is you. I would like to explore what I like more since I haven't got the chance to before and I would like to explore things with you since you are my partner." Something is purring and it isn't Enid. Or maybe it is.

"Guys! Let's go ask Xavier to come to Jericho with us on Sunday!" Enid entered the bathroom.

"Enid, you can perfectly do that by yourself. Plus, we were in the middle of something." Wednesday said. Enid's face flushed red in embarrassment and she quickly apologized and left. Wednesday turns around to look back at me, waiting for my answer.

"Sure. Let's meet behind the greenhouse at 5pm." I said and smiled. Wednesday nodded and left me alone in the bathroom.
