(A/N: i'm so sorry this has taken me so long to finish, alot of shit's happened in my life these past 2 years since Weird! came out, regular oneshots will be making a comeback very soon :) and if i don't see you guys before, happy new year!)

"That circus is in town, sweetheart. Are you going with your friends?" I groaned. What bloody friends? Ditching everybody after I graduated was the best thing I ever did. I moved away with my mum and didn't tell anybody until a year later. They all seemed to move on with their lives, like they should do anyway.

"I don't know, probably? I don't wanna be in large groups by myself. It could be good, though... Yeah, fuck it, I'll go." My mum smiled and left my room. I sat up from my bed and decided to get ready before the show started. I rummaged through the wardrobe and decided on a faded black crop top and black jeans, finished with my black and white converse. I'm not going there looking like a freak. I bounced down the stairs and entered the kitchen, watching my mum preparing food for later on.

"Am I okay to take the car, mum?" She turned to look at me, glancing quickly at my outfit. She grinned and nodded. I grabbed the keys, gave mum a kiss on the cheek and headed off.

"I can't remember where this thing even is." I searched up the name of the place. 'The Freak Show'. I punched the co-ordinates into my GPS and started my journey. It was only thirty minutes away, so I would make it in good time before it actually started. This is one of the first circuses I had been to since I was little, so I didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into.

- a small drive later -

Where is everybody? The open field was completely deserted, apart from one person in the distance. I didn't know whether to approach them or keep the space. Could always shout...

"H-hey, excuse me? Is the circus today?" They slowly turned to look at me. I was beginning to get weirded out by the way they just stared, then their hand came up from their side and pointed into the empty space. I began to walk towards where they were pointing, hearing faint music start to play. I picked up the pace in my walk, suddenly hitting into something and falling back. I rubbed my sore forehead, looking up at what could've caused the collision. A massive tent had appeared out of thin air. I wasn't sure on going in, but I pushed my fears aside and entered through the large curtain door. My jaw hit the floor.

"Someone's here! Welcome! I'm Penny, but call me whatever you would like! Come meet the others!" The strange girl grabbed my hand and lead me through groups of different people. Some looked kind of normal like me, and others really stood out over them. Colourful clothing, crazy hair and makeup looks. Penny took me into the back of the tent, where only a few people sat together, talking.

"Guys! She's perfect! Look at her. Dominic, what do you think?" A guy stood up and examined me, like he had never seen another person before. He smiled, telling me to sit with him.

"How's it goin', love? What's ya name?"

"I'm y/n. I-is this the little circus? Where are the clowns?" The group giggled, whispering to each other. Dominic snapped his fingers, making them stop immediately.

"I guess you could call it that. This is The Freak Show. We're kinda like a circus. Hence the name, we ain't the type of people ya see everyday." You've got that right. I admired everyone around us. Two girls, who I presumed were twins, smiled and waved at me. I waved back.

"That's Hazel and Maeve, they're super nice, they're the trapeze artists. Over there is Skunk, his real name's Oscar, he smells amazing but just don't get too close to his armpits, he knocked his grandma out at christmas dinner last year. You've met Penny, she's our contortionist," Penny twisted her arm backwards and shook my hand, "the girl sitting beside Oscar with the peg on her nose is Jewel, when she cries, diamonds and sapphires fall from her tear ducts, Watch, Jewel! Imagine a deer getting hit by a bus." The girl began to cry, clear and blue rocks tumbled down her face and into her cupped hands. She was very pretty, her hair matched the colour of the sapphires.

"What can you do? 'ave you got any weird talents?" I shook my head. I don't even have a normal talent.

"I'm sure ya have a talent, ya just haven't found it."

"How did you know what I said? I didn't say anything out loud, did I?" Dominic shook his head, smirking.

"Telekinesis. I see everyone's thoughts 'n feelin's. Skunk is thinkin' about what he's havin' for lunch, the twins are wonderin' why you're 'ere, Penny's thinkin' if she can fit herself inside a small cardboard box, which she can. And Jewel is thinkin' about how pretty you are." I looked over at her, her face was redder than a tomato. I felt my face heating up, too.

"The show's in two hours, we need to find y/n's talent so she can perform with us. Can you juggle?" I shook my head.

"Sword swallow?" No.

"Call birds to you with your voice?" Nope.

"Play an instrument behind your head?" Maybe... I used to play piano.

"Do you have a piano anywhere? I know it's not a weird talent, but it's something." The group shared looks and agreed with one another. Jewel held out her hand and took me to a different part of the tent. A small keyboard sat in the middle of the claustrophobic room. I sat on the stool and patted beside me, letting Jewel sit with me. I turned around and sat with my back to the keys, reaching behind and playing a couple notes. Some sounded off-key, but practice makes perfect.

"You're really good." Jewel smiled, humming along to the small tune I played.

"Th-thanks. I took piano lessons back in school and never stopped, even after I left. I was wishing it would take me somewhere in life, but it didn't. I wish I had a talent like you guys have cuz this," I smashed a few keys with my fist, "isn't weird." Jewel grinned, giggling at me.

"I think it's pretty weird! I wish I could do that. A few more tries and you've nailed a song!" I blushed, hiding my face away from her.

- an hour later -

"How's practice goin', y/n?" Dom rested his hand on my shoulder. I nodded and gestured for him to listen. I began to play Bohemian Rhapsody behind my head, hitting every single key correctly, he clapped as soon as I played the last note. He stood silent or a minute in deep thought.

"Can ya sing?" I froze and shook my head furiously. Jewel cocked her head to the side.

"Yes she can, she sang to me and her voice is phenomenal!" Dominic smirked, nodding.

"Looks like ya can sing with it too! Would ya be comfortable singin' aswell?" I shrugged, I haven't sang in front of anybody in years. Plus, singing isn't weird.

"When ya playin' a fookin' piano behind ya head, everybody will be too stunned to even concentrate on the non-weird part of the act. Trust me." I forgot he can hear thoughts... I took a deep breath, agreeing.

"Okay! I'll sing, too! If I do well, does that mean I can join you guys on all your performances?" Dom shared a look with jewel. Her eyes pleaded him.

"I don't see why not! Show time is in twenty minutes, be there or be a fookin' square, ya weirdos!" He stuck his tongue out of his mouth fully and held up a rock out hand sign, walking backwards out of the room.

- after the show (a/n: i'm really half-arsing this lmao, it's 2am :'( ) -

"That was fookin' awesome!" Dominic and Skunk jumped around together. The twins were still chatting about their performance. Jewel had tissues under her eyes, catching the rest of the crystals she was crying. I held my upper arm, rubbing it slightly. Did I do good enough to join them?

"You did better than good enough, y/n! I think I speak for us all when I say, welcome to The Freak Show." He stretched out his hand, waiting for me to shake it. I gripped his hand and smiled until my cheeks hurt, thanking him over and over. Jewel spun me around on my heel and kissed me, taking everybody by surprise. She pulled back quickly and apologised.

"I'm sorry! I felt like it was the perfect time and-" I cut her off her rambling, kissing her this time. She almost melted, wrapping her arms around my neck. We parted, blushing and grinning at each other.
