"We need to leave, now! The Lonely have tracked us, we're fucked!" Adam grabbed my arm, dragging me out of my bunk. I winced, the fresh bruises throbbed beneath his clutching fingers.

"Adam, ouch! I can run on my own!" I yawned, rubbing my eye with my free hand as Adam raced through the dark hideout.

"Not fast enough! Oi, wake up, everybody! They know where we are!" Commotion sounded throughout the site, flashlights switching on to look around.

"Wakey wakey! Look lively and follow me!" Adam came to a halt, giving me time to catch my breath. Members of our gang began leaving their assorted bunks, grabbing as many weapons and ammo as they could before following the Scottish maniac away from our not-so-safe place.

"A-Adam! My leg's in a cast! I can't run!" Chelsea shouted from the back of the huddle. He looked at me, then back at her, then back to me again. He took a deep breath.

"Lead them through site E, down the backstreets and into that abandoned shelter we found. I'll meet you guys there, I promise." I nodded as he kissed my forehead and slowed down, I picked up the speed through the grounds. The sound of running and gunshots were metres away from us, frightening some of the girls.

"This way, everyone. Try not to get seen. We're screwed if we get spotted. Just follow my lead." I whispered loud enough for the other 30 people to hear. I ducked down, hoping they did, too. A street lamp was shot at, smashing the bulb into smithereens. Everything was darker than before, panic began bubbling in my stomach.

"They're around here somewhere, boss! I can smell them." An uproar of chants came from the right. 'Beat The Broken, beat The Broken, beat The Broken!' I gulped, finally reaching the entrance to the backstreets in the city.

"This way. Meet at the shelter." I stood aside to let everyone go past, waiting anxiously for Adam and Chelsea. He was carrying her on his back, crouching behind the road blockers and upside down cars dotted around. People don't lie when they call this the dangerous part of the city.

"Where are the others, y/n?" Adam mumbled, glancing behind him. I gestured in the direction of the shelter, earning a nod from him.

"Lead the way, we'll follow your le-." There was shouting coming from behind us, multiple guns were fired at the same time.

"Get down, get down!" Adam roared, dropping to the floor. I laid on my stomach by the only burning car around, listening to the painful screams of our troops.

"We need to get to that shel-."

"You're not goin' anywhere, Warrington." Someone cocked the shotgun behind us, shooting inches from my feet. My jaw clenched as the second blow was taken, immediately knowing they shot Adam and Chelsea.

"I'm sorry, Adam" I whispered, crying silently as the person pulled me up from the floor. They cuffed my wrists together, making me thrash around to break free.

"Calm down there, sweetheart. I'm not gonna kill you. I think the boss will like you, you're a pretty little thing. Come on." I figured it was a guy by the sound of his voice. He covered my mouth with his hand, the other holding a pistol to the small of my back.

"I've got one, T. Stunning little lady laying on her front to hide with her boy toy and another." He shoved me into an armoured up guy, he held me tightly in his chest so I couldn't move.

"Nice one, Baker. What's your name, princess?" A new voice beside me spat, reloading his gun. I just assumed they were all guys.

"Y-y/n, y/n y/l/n." He hummed, signalling to the men to follow. I was lifted up and taken somewhere I'd never been. This must be their hideout. The guy threw me down to the floor and walked away. I slowly regained the strength to sit up and look around.
