29- "this 'first time parenting' thing":

The monitor sounded again, wails blaring out of the small speaker. I shot up in the pitch black, rubbing my blurry eyes. I reached over to click the bedside lamp on.

"The baby." I whispered, patting beside me to wake Dominic. He wasn't there, just a ruffled sheet.
I tilted my head in confusion, slowly getting up out of bed. I tip toed down the hall and stopped outside of the baby's room, hearing soft singing. I peeked through the crack in the door, seeing Dom swaying side to side with Louise in his arms. I stood behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Go back to bed, love. You've not slept properly for a while, I'll take care of Lou. Go rest. I've got her." I yawned, giving in.

"Okay, I love you." Dom turned around and kissed my forehead.

"I love you, too, bub. I'll be back in the room in a minute." I sighed in relief, turning on my heel to leave back to bed. I sat down and checked the time, 3:09am. Notification bubbles popped up on the screen, my Twitter was blown up with messages.

I chuckled at the response, switching my phone off and returning it to the table. Dom snuck in and sat down beside me.

"Thank you for that, I'm not used to this 'first time parenting' thing yet. It's so tiring. I feel bad since you tour a lot and hardly get sleep." Dominic shook his head, pecking my forehead.

"Don't feel bad, love. If it means ya get enough sleep to function through the day, then I'd rather not sleep at all. I just wanna make sure you're well rested to take care of Lou." I blushed, laying back down. I clicked off the light and cuddled into Dominic's side, closing my eyes.

"I love you."

"I love you, too, y/n." Dominic shuffled to get comfortable, holding me tighter to his bare chest. I took a deep breath, his sweet scent filling my nose. A mixture between baby wipes and cologne sprayed earlier in the day. As we began dozing off, cries rattled the monitor once again. I sighed, slipping out of Dom's hold to assist Louise. I stumbled down to her room, creaking the door open. She was curled in a ball on her back, sobbing.

"Okay, baby. Mummy's got you." I hushed, lifting Lou up to cradle her. I gently rocked side to side, putting a little bounce in my step. I paced around the room for a couple minutes until she was sound asleep once again.

"Good girl." I breathed, kissing her forehead lightly before laying her back in the crib. I turned around to leave, startled to see Dom standing at the door.

"Idiot, you nearly made me scream." I whisper-yelled. He chuckled, pulling me into his arms.

"You're welcome, love. And that wouldn't be the first time I've made ya scream," he winked, making me roll my eyes, "C'mon, I've got the next one if she cries again." I rolled my eyes, walking back to our room.

"Now she's asleep, whaddya say to a little four-in-the-mornin' fun?" I shook my head and smiled.

"But what if she wakes up again when we're in the middle of... yano?" Dom shrugged, pulling me closer into him.

"Then I'll stop to give her her needs. I'll be quick, princess, I promise." I sighed, giving in. Dominic smirked and pulled me in for a kiss.

Surprisingly, we got a good half hour of mind-blowing, rough se- the baby's crying again.
