I decide not to argue back. I mean who would be upset about getting new clothes. We get into the car and the ride on the way to the doctor is silent. I try falling asleep, but it sadly doesn't work.
We come to a stop and I try to open the door when Skyler stops me. "What do you think you're doing?" He says accusingly. I look at him likes he's stupid and say "I'm getting out of the car!"
It's like i'm talking to a 1st grader. "Nuh-uh. No you're not. How stupid do you think I am, Arsen?" I smirk before saying "I don't think you want me to answer that." He just ignores my comment. Now we're on our way home.
Basically all that happened was that Skyler went to get my medicine and came back. I have no idea how he got it, and I don't want to ask.
We all get out and go into the house. "Arsen, i'll be right back. Don't even try to run away because the boys are staying here." Skyler says. I stop him "Wait where are you going?" I don't even care. "I'm going to buy you some different clothes. Also I want you to take your medicine." I'm about to question him further when he shuts the door in my face.
How nice and classy.
I don't feel like anymore conversation so I start going up to my room. I'm almost there when Eli stops me "Hey, you forgot something." He says holding the bottle of pills in his hand. I smile gratefully, take the pills, and head to my room.
I don't even say thank you. I open the door and lock it. Then I put my plan into action. I quickly walk into my bathroom and over to the window.
I put one leg over.
There's no turning back now. I don't have to look down to know how far a drop this is. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of my old life. I mean I never really know how this whole kidnapping thing could turn out.
They could kill me any day. This whole being nice to me thing could just be an act. I can't trust anyone in this house. Before I know it I have the other leg swung over. Now all I have to do is jump. Without a second thought I jump. I land on my arm. Pain sears through it.
The adrenaline is pumping through me. I drop the bottle of pills, I can just get some when I go home. Home, something that i've taken for granite. I start to run. I try to run as fast as I can.
Even though I have no idea where i'm going I just run. I run for a few more minutes and start to get tired. I guess I'm far away enough now. I walk for a few more miles until I start to see a road.
Finally! Civilization! I think for a while and settle on the thought of hitchhiking. Not everyone in this world can be bad. For a while a few cars pass by. I think of giving up when a raggedy pickup truck slowly comes to a stop.
The drive signals me in, and I can't really see them since the windows are tinted. I still open the door, can you blame me I just got kidnapped? I open the door and man, can I tell you that was a sight to see.
When I look into the driver's seat I see this hot guy. And I don't mean hot like Skyler, I mean like how country boys are hot.
Why am I even comparing this perfect piece of hotness to Skyler?
I get into the car. "Thank you so much. I've been looking for help for so long." I see the guys smile, it look like heaven. "Well my momma taught me to always help someone out. Lucky I was there, right Darling?" As soon as I heard his voice I shuddered.
Yep, he's a southern boy. "I can't thank you enough. Before I was here I was in a bad place. I was scared someone would come looking for me." The boy nods his head like he understands. "Well, I would ask what you got yourself into, but it seems like you don't wanna talk about it, right? Anyways my name's Tanner, what's yours?"
