"Timothy, you're tall, would you mind helping me hang this homecoming banner?" Liz, one of Timothy's many acquaintances, asks during lunch that day, batting her eyelashes and flashing her pearly white teeth at him hopefully.

"Of course!" He responds, "where's it going?"

Liz brightened gratefully, "Oh my god, thank you! We're putting it above that door over there. Even with the ladder I still can't reach!"

Meanwhile...

"Did Timothy get a new top?"

"No, I've seen that one before, but never with those pants."

"Yeah, I guess..."

Peter watches from afar as a girl approaches Timothy (who had just finished putting up the homecoming banner) with this huge smile, conversing briefly with him.

"We should probably stop starring before it gets creepy though..."

"Too late."

The voice makes Peter jump and snap his attention over towards MJ, who sits with her book propped open at the end of their table, per usual.

"You guys are losers."

"Then why do you sit with us?" Ned asks, slightly annoyed.

"Because I don't have any friends."

"You have Timothy." Peter suggests before he can stop himself.

"Yep, and the only thing he talks to me about Spider-Man."

"Really?" Ned smirks, his eyebrow raised curiously.

"Yeah, he has the biggest crush on him. Never met the guy, but only has eyes for him. It's really weird. But, unless you're secretly Spider-Man or something Peter, you don't stand a chance."

At those words, the two best friends couldn't help but share a knowing glance.
