7 - Disney's Planning

Inside the DSA Headquarters, Belle would stumble into her office. Doctor Disney and Rift would sit before her desk as her damaged mark two suit laid on the table before them. Holding an ice pack against her forehead, she peered down at the pair.

"Why's he here?" Rift growled, peering towards the doctor.

"Ruby will come back...and we can't let her, can we?" Belle asked.

Rift shook his head. "Nope."

"Exactly..." Belle replied.

Looking up, Rift saw that Doctor Disney was looking down at him.

"Is she okay?" Rift asked.

The doctor nodded. "A little banged up, but nothing too serious. I've patched her up already."

"Thank you..." Rift replied.

"It's just protocol when it comes to our people. We're lucky it was only a minor injury," Doctor Disney explained. "If it had been any worse, you might have lost your friend."

"I know..." Rift replied.

Doctor Disney glanced over at Belle. "So you're saying you want to go after Ruby? Why?"

"Because she's now an enemy to the entire country!" Belle answered.

"That doesn't mean we need to run directly into danger," Rift cut in. "We can't afford to lose anyone."

"But Rift is right..." Doctor Disney added. "This is Ruby we're talking about. She has the ability to completely transform and shapeshift her entire body. There's no telling what she could do if we tried to stop her. Plus I still need to take Rift back in, he's still a DSA and AIM Project after all!"

"I'm a person!" He argued back. "Not a project!"

"That's beside the point!" Doctor Disney exclaimed. "Even if we did risk our lives, how do you plan to capture Ruby? You barely escaped with your life earlier! That's why I'm here, so I could help you figure out a strategy. I had hoped to take her alive, but if that isn't possible then I can at least give you a way to disable her."

"Disabling...her?" Rift questioned.

"Yes." Doctor Disney nodded. "There are several ways to do this. One of which involves a device known as a stun gun. This weapon works by applying an electrical charge to the subject. It can render them unconscious or even kill them depending on the strength of the current. I have a few of these stashed around the building, they're perfect for subduing unruly agents. I also happen to know where one is kept, so we can retrieve it immediately."

"Sounds good," Rift agreed.

"However, this means you'd need to get close enough to Ruby to fire the stun gun at her," Doctor Disney continued.

"I could try to do that..." Rift responded. "I can use my teleportation!"

"While this is a viable option, it won't be easy," Doctor Disney cautioned. "Ruby is a seasoned warrior, and if she gets alarmed, she will likely retaliate. She's not the type to simply let you shoot her."

"Well, I guess there's no other choice then!" Rift declared. "We'll just have to do it the hard way!"

"That's fine by me," Doctor Disney nodded. "Now, just a moment, I'll go grab the stun gun while you change into something more appropriate. I assume you were wearing the wrong clothes when you fought Ruby?"

"No, actually, I was wearing one of my AIM Project costumes," Rift explained. "It protects me from harm, I refuse to take it off!"

"Alright, I get that, but I don't want to see you going anywhere near Ruby in that thing!" Doctor Disney warned. "We don't want anything of you damaged, get on your BETA suit!"
