Note: there will be time skips kasi masyadong mabagal kung isusulat bawat araw or linggo haha. it's already implied na boss and jing's friendship are established and getting strong as the weeks and months pass by. anyway, sorry if may confusion sa timeline, but you can ask me and i shall clarify! :D this chapter is around September.
You go over the paper in obvious amusement. You snorted once you're done reading it.
"Talaga? Sick leave? So scheduled na talaga na magkakasakit ka sa mga araw na 'to?" You smilingly asked.
"Yup." Jill answered.
You chuckled with a shake of your head. "Para 'to sa graduation ni Doc, 'no?"
Jill nods with a smile on her face.
"P'wede mo naman 'to gawing VL, hindi ako mahigpit sa leave." You replied and relaxed back on your chair.
"Hmm, gusto ko muna ipunin VL ko." Jill answered.
You mouth shrug at her answer. Understandable. "Oks. I-send ko 'to sa HR with my approval. Expect na lang their answer sa email."
"No need, boss. I can send it myself, I just went to you first to have your approval lang sana."
You sat there, blankly staring at her. Because yes, that's the standard protocol. You don't have to send it yourself. "Okay," you answered and gave in.
Jill gets the paper again to tuck it back inside her folder. "Thanks, boss." She said.
She's about to grab the doorknob when you spoke up, "Congrats nga pala. And please send my regards to Doc."
She winks as she smirks. "I will, boss." Your chuckling is the last thing she heard and saw before slipping out the door.
A tall angry man almost collided with her because he's obstructing the path. Jill was gonna apologize when the man arrogantly speaks, "Get out of my way."
Ay, excuse you? Jill thought in disbelief but steps aside anyway. She watches as the man forcefully opens your office door and slams it shut it almost rattled the door frame. Jill recalls that's another young executive from another department, some important board member's son. Before she could take another step away, the man's booming voice rang out from the inside.
"And who do you think you are?" He shouted, a little muffled but is still heard clearly.
The whole office is hearing the commotion from inside, though your responses aren't heard. You must be speaking calmly. But Jill is quite alarmed for you. She's standing at her spot, frozen and ready to come to your aid if need be.
"You can scam your way to the top all you want, pero we all know you're just a lowly rat from the slums! You're powerless here, Y/N. Cross me again, and you'll be aware kung gaano ka kaliit, na you're nothing, and that I can crush you so easily!"
The people who were hearing are looking amongst themselves, worried and furious at the onslaught of insults thrown at you, and how they can do nothing about it since they're at the lowest hierarchy level.
An ugly reality of the corporate life.
Jill strained her hearing to catch your response.
You chuckled, and Jill frowned because how can you find this situation humorous?
"You're right, Mr. Javier. I'm powerless, I have no name, I am nothing but a rat. Pero isn't it crazy how this powerless, nameless rat is more favored by your own father? I guess even spoiled little princes can't have it all, 'no? Not even their father's respect and approval."
