"Bakit may work pa rin tayo? Eh bukas na 'yung event?" Cess complained as she's eating her pudding, glaring at you.

"Truly. Hindi man lang ginawang half-day ngayon para sana less 'yung stress, 'di ba. Tsaka more time to prepare? Alangan namang haggardo kami r'on." Dani also complained, glaring at you too.

"Kaya nga! S'yempre magpapa-mani-pedi pa ako niyan. Tsaka lashes at hair and makeup. Walang time halos?" Cess replied.

You stopped your hand holding the spoon midway. "Oh bakit sa'kin kayo nagagalit? Sa tingin niyo ba hindi ko 'yan dinispute? I did my best, okay?" You rolled your eyes and carried on eating your lunch.

"Kayo talaga, 'wag niyo na awayin 'yan si bossing. I was there, guys." Chad chimed in defense for you. "E kaso mas maraming epal n'ong meeting, so ayon, nanaig ang kadiliman."

"Kaya nga medyo binawasan ko 'yung workload niyo ngayon, e. Need nga lang natin bawiin next week." You added. "Tsaka choice niyo rin namang mag-early out, ah?" You sassed.

"Early out tapos next week wala na kaming babalikang work?" Dani sassed back.

You only smirkingly shrugged at that.

"Uy, pero. Ready na ba mga outfit niyo tom?" Chad asked, diverting the topic to a more positive side.

"Of course! Ilang buwan kong pinlano ang outfit ko for tomorrow, ano. Sobrang drop dead gorg ako bukas, makikita niyo." Cess replied excitedly.

"Same here! Kung may darling of the night d'on, ako na 'yon." Dani said.

You snorted at that.

"Tawa-tawa ka diyan!" Dani told you off, then turns to the silent woman beside them. "Ikaw, Jill? Kanina ka pa tahimik diyan, bes. Ready na outfit mo for tomorrow?"

Jill swallowed down her water before replying. "Mhm! Sorry, ang daldal kasi ng mga Ate ko sa GC namin right now, e. But yeah, ready naman na ako for tom. I think I'll repeat outfit lang din."

"Nothing wrong naman with repeating outfits! Naku, kahit ako, uulit lang din me. Mahal-mahal na ng dresses ngayon." Cess said in sympathy.

"Yah! Kaya nga. Parang medyo sayang if bibili pa ng bago e isang gabi lang naman." Jill agreed.

"Ikaw, Chaddie. Ano ang susuotin mo bukas?" Dani asked the only guy in the group.

"Hmm, I'm going for a modern barong. Para medyo mag-stand out naman ako. Sure ako maraming naka-suit bukas, e."

"Ay, korek! Sabi nga ni Beyonce, "UNIQUE!" Tama ito."

And the convo ended right there.

You frowned. "Aba, so ako hindi niyo ako tatanungin? Hangin lang ako rito?"

"Luh, may naririnig kayo?" Cess asked, acting as though you don't exist to further irritate you.

"Ewan ko na rin, Ate Cess. Parang medyo malamig nga sa part na 'to." Dani said, while pointing at your direction.

Chad and Jill giggled at that. But to save your dignity, Jill puts her phone down, screen facing the table. "Ikaw, boss. Ready ka na for tomorrow?"

You meet her eyes in appreciation. "Hmm, oo. Ready naman na. Thanks for asking, Jillian." You fold your arms in front of your chest. "Kaya ikaw talaga best employee sa department natin, e."

Cess and Dani scoffed at that. Even Chad looked at you in disbelief.

"Wow ha? Pinagtanggol nga kita kanina?" Chad said.

"Char lang!" You replied. "Kayong dalawa ni Jill ang best employees, Chaddie."

"Pft, crush mo lang si Jillian, e." Dani muttered under her breath, but still loud enough to be heard by you.
