It's 3 in the morning and everyone is now gathered at the rendezvous point, buzzing with energy, making TikToks to pass the time, or taking selfies, talking about what activities they'd do once you all arrive at the beach, and whatnot.
Just in time, the rented mini bus pulled up in front of them. The doors slid open and you came into view, eliciting cheers from your team who've been excitedly waiting. You amusedly shook your head at your coworkers.
"Oh kalma lang, mga teh." You subdued the rowdy crowd. "Chad, kumpleto na ba? Oks na 'yung head count?" You asked once you step out of the vehicle.
"Yes, boss. Wala namang nawawala, lahat din ay punctual for the field trip." He answered.
You chuckle as you nod. "Wow, sana every day kayong punctual. Sige na, pasok na lahat. 'Wag magtutulakan, kids! Buddy system tayo ha." You called out again as the people starts climbing inside the bus.
In the meantime, you're helping the men load the supplies. Your subordinates immediately tried stopping you, saying, "Boss, relax ka lang! Kami na rito."
Chad also pushes you towards the bus. "Tara na nga, ipapasok na lang kita kasi hindi ka na naman mapakali. Kaya na nila Kuya Romeo 'yon." When you were gonna voice out your protest, he cuts you off. "No, shut up. Wala na tayo sa trabaho. Hindi mo kelangang maging sobrang responsable, dai."
You only groaned and climb up the bus. You look around and see Jill sitting alone by the window, rummaging inside her bag to fish out her phone. Before you could let your subconscious lead you towards the empty seat beside her, someone took it. Ethan.
You just watch motionless as they talk happily with each other. You divert your attention away and just sit on your tentative designated seat, the first seat on the bus. You plop down heavily, ignoring Kara who's already sitting there.
She's busy spreading sunscreen on her arms as she frowningly looks at you. "Bad mood agad? Nagsisimula pa lang ang araw."
You cross your arms as you lean back on the comfortable seat. "Ang ingay kasi."
Kara laughs at the shallow reason for your irritation. "Sus. Kahit naman tahimik ang paligid, lagi ka pa ring galit." She absentmindedly answers. "Kaya maraming takot sa'yo, e."
"Hindi naman takot 'yung team ko sa'kin." You argued.
Kara snorts. "Hindi ka sigurado diyan." She then huffs in frustration. "Seriously, ease up, Y/N! Today is meant for having fun! Throw all your stress under the bus. Imbes na nagmamaktol ka na naman diyan over something useless." Kara told you.
You didn't react to that. She's right, everyone's right. You should not burden yourself with unnecessary stress today. "Oo na."
"'Yan! Ganiyan dapat." Kara replied. Then she passes her bottle of sunscreen to you. "Naglagay ka na ba?"
"Mamaya na." You answered.
Kara shrugs as she returns the cosmetic inside her bag. "Suit yourself."
Once the men is done loading the supplies and climbs inside the bus as well, that's when the noise inside the bus increases louder. Vanessa apparently brought a portable bluetooth mic and speaker, for entertainment during the trip to the beach. You shook your head at your team's antics.
The 5 hour drive is full of singing, cheering, laughters, banters, sharing of snacks. Even the drivers are roped in on the games.
"Okay, since masakit na lalamunan ko. Sino naman ang kakanta?" Emman says to the mic.
Danica shouts from her seat excitedly. "Si Jillian! Maganda boses ni Jillian! Pakantahin na 'yan!"
Jill felt her temperature rise once she hears her name. "Huh?" She reacted in surprise.
