Y/n's POV

The sun was shining in my eyes. I was getting annoyed. Why is it so bright in this room? Someone should close the blinds or turn off the lights. I swallowed but my mouth felt dry, and my throat scratchy. I immediately knew I had caught Aurora's cold. I felt hot but cold at the same time. My limbs felt achy and I felt like a limp noodle. My lips felt chapped and I wanted some water. Or ice chips.

"Y/n?" Someone called out. Camilo.

"The lights" I managed to murmur. All of a sudden the room went dark. I managed to crack my eyes open slightly. Camilo was standing over me with a cup in his hand.

"How's Jackson?" I managed to speak.

"I'm fine but you look like shit" he replied. I managed a small laugh but my chest felt like it was going to explode. The door clicked open but I didn't have to energy to look up at who it was. A cold cloth was placed on my forehead and I felt slightly better.

"I'm going to break your fever but you need to go home. This is quite contagious and I don't want Jackson getting sicker than he is" Rose spoke. I could feel Camilo stiffen beside me.

"Could you move her to another room?" He asked.

"It's just a cold. She'd be better off at home." She replied. Camilo sighed. "Why? Y/n? Is everything ok?" She asked. I grabbed Camilo's hand to stop him from saying anything.

"Yeah, everything's fine," I replied. She looked skeptical but didn't push any further. Camilo packed my stuff as Rose gave me ice chips and plenty of fluid. She gave me some antibiotics and by noon I was able to walk. I said goodbye to Jackson and his family and then we left the hospital. We walked for what felt like hours in the heat of the day to the part where the hidden trail was supposed to be. I looked up towards the trail. It was barely visible but I remember that you had to climb a bit to get there.

"Where's the trail?" Camilo asks. I lifted my hand and pointed up. "You mean we have to climb?"

I just nodded and dug my foot into the earth and began pulling myself up. My arms burned and I wanted to drop down but I kept going. Finally, we made it up to the base of the trail. I let myself sit down and try to will down nausea.

"Are you ok?" Camilo asked. I shook my head and squeezed my eyes shut. Camilo reached over and began to gently rub my back. Tears threatened to fall but I swallowed the lump in my throat and pushed myself up from the ground. Camilo held my hand the entire way always pulling me up when I continually tripped and fell over random rocks and roots. This is supposed to be the place that brings me great joy and happiness. But all it's done is get me pain and sadness. Camilo squeezed my hand and gave me a half smile. I smiled back. Well, not all pain and sadness. I've still got a little ray of sunshine and let me tell you, I'm going to hold onto that sunshine as long as I live.
