Lesley was unconscious as Rick was attending to the twins and then he went to find out about the ambulance for Lesley not noticing that Lesley was still bleeding from delivery.
" Gail, have the paramedics said how long they were gonna be?" Rick asked
" No they haven't Rick, how's Lesley?" Gail responded
" She looks to be alright, she's finally fallen asleep for now hopefully she can rest for the time being...."
" I called Dana and let her know of what was going on..... Rick you did what you had to you should feel proud of yourself" Zach replied
" Well I don't feel proud because Lesley still needs to be in a hospital where we can fix and save her life... I gambled with her life tonight... And she still may not have a chance at survival"
" Rick not to change the subject, How's Jessie?" Gail asked
" Not very good Gail... I nearly lost her 3 times" Rick replied
Rick thanked both Gail and Zack and Alice more than once again for everything they did that afternoon and went back to check on Lesley...
" Lesley sweetheart, is there anything you need me to do?" Rick asked and gently tried to shake her to wake her up but knew something was off because Lesley was more pale than usual
When Lesley wasnt responding Rick started to get worried that something was wrong and the power being out didn't help ease his fears any more.
" Lesley?!!" Rick called out again before reaching to get a pulse...
Rick headed quickly when he barely was getting a pulse on Lesley and he didn't hesitate to carry her with him while grabbing her portable respirator mask but not realizing he had pulled alittle on the sutures where Lesley started bleeding more
" Rick what is it? What's wrong?" Gail called out
" Gail, you and Zach follow behind with the twins out to the car. We can't wait for an ambulance. Lesley barely has a pulse.... Going to pick her up, she lost alot of blood.... And I may have pulled the sutures alittle when trying to get a pulse.." Rick bit out in a hurry
" Rick just set her over here." Zach said when he went to examine Lesley " she may have internal bleeding but we can't risk moving her not like this Rick it may just kill her for sure."
Luckily just as Rick was about to get out to the car the ambulance had just shown up for Lesley and Rick felt slight very slight relief that they got there because he knew with how much she bled out that meant time was ticking
" Her name is Lesley Webber. She's in her early 30's and just had twins... Blood pressure 35/40 and she's tachycardic.... Possible internal bleeding from a 2nd unseen complication from delivery oxygen saturation is very low in spite of her emergency respirator " Rick explained quickly as he reluctantly stepped aside to let them do what they had to.
" Lesley you hold on and I'll be right behind you... You hear me, you fight for me..." Rick kissed her head and moved to get in the car with Zach and Gail to follow the ambulance to General
" Rick she'll be alright you noticed there was a problem and you moved quickly and she's not gonna leave those 2 beautiful girls she knows that they need her." Gail said in the car
" I want to believe that Gail I wanna believe that she isn't gonna leave us.... But she was pale right down to the touch. She's lost alot and I mean alot of blood.... I should've had her with me when Steve called this morning but because of the situation my stupid self told her no she was to stay right where she was." Rick got out
