Lesley's transplant final Chpter

As the end of the week had started to approach, Rick made sure that things for Lesley went as easy as possible as she was going into the hospital in less than 24 hours which didn't settle Rick's nerves any less than what they were because his worries about her have always been high after the accident and than after the twins were born which later led where Lesley was later pushed to the top of the transplant list where she was having to wait for a donor to come through. Thankfully after Lesley had the transplant she's adjusted well to being able to be home but it was proving to be more difficult for her to get back on her feet for work as she's had a few setbacks where she either had a close call or she was back as a patient.

" Lesley the only thing that I'm concerned for is for you. That's nothing different now than how things were 6 months ago. I know you're gonna be fine because I trust Cunningham as well as I trust Monica as a doctor where I know that you'll be in good hands." Rick answered as he sat back on the couch.

" Rick, I know that things are scary.... When Dana made it clear that it would be difficult and near dangerous for us to try for a child after the accident and then when Alan told me I was pregnant I was scared just as I was happy because to think that I couldn't be a mother is terrifying but I made it through it and we don't just have 1 baby... we had been given 2. Rick l'm not giving up easily for anything I will fight through everything I have to so I can be here for you and our girls." Lesley laid back at Rick's side

" Lesley you've always been a strong little fighter..... That's why you're my stubborn little bug..."

" Sometimes I wonder how things would've been if Laura were still here and how things would turn out with the girls having a big sister to spend time with."

" Hey, the girls would be having alot of fun with the adventures and all of that with Laura. And Laura would've loved to step in for when we need someone to watch the girls while we would be stuck at the hospital. But Laura is gone... and we have to remind ourselves that we can get through anything just as long as we're together."

Lesley started to yawn as she was about to comment of Rick's remark and statement. " I know you're right sweetheart and I do believe that Laura is still with us even though she isn't here. I just thank god that I still have you and we have a family together even though I would've died if you hadn't gotten back here to the house that night when I needed you." Lesley yawned again

" I think it's time that I get you up to bed sweetheart because you're tired and we will talk more about this tomorrow." Rick started to stand up and he held out a hand for Lesley to help up to bed.

Rick helped Lesley up to bed but made sure like usual that she took her medication and that her nasal was running properly before he changed into his nightwear and climbed into bed where like usual, Lesley had shifted to be right at his side. Throughout the night everyone was asleep for the most part until Rick got up around 2 in the am and had trouble going back to sleep and as usual, he just spent the rest of the night and early morning he just watched Lesley sleep until she was to get up for the morning and he made sure that he got things together as in just a few hours, he and Lesley had to be at the hospital by 5:30 in the evening and Rick had already arranged for the twins to be at Steve and Audrey's which Audrey was delighted to volunteer to take the girls where it would be easier on Rick as it would ease Lesley's mind about their safety as well as whether or not they were okay.

" The girls have both eaten what they decided they wanted and they're watching their blue's clues... Can I get you anything for the time being?" Rick asked when Lesley sat back down after she had gotten a shower and gotten dressed.

" No l'm alright.... Why were you up so early Rick?" Lesley asked and raised a brow when Rick looked at her surprised " I felt when you got up because you eased your forearm from underneath me when you got up And before you ask, you didn't wake me." Lesley answered Rick's unasked question
