" Lesley.... Les...?!" Rick bit out and went out to get help
Jessie paged Monica to the ICU as Rick moved to get her up there.. afraid that something was wrong, he refused to leave her side until Monica was in there
" Rick Monica is gonna do everything she can, Lesley will be alright..." Jessie tried to assure Rick
" She was this close to almost going home Jessie and now she's in ICU and it's not clear what's going on"
" Rick Lesley will be alright, she's gonna come through this all..." Jessie tried again
" I pray you're right Jessie.... Because I don't want to lose her..." Rick got out
Just as Rick's fear started to grow, Monica came out to talk to him about what's going on and Lesley's condition
" She's okay.... Tell me Lesley is alright" Rick went right to the point
" Lesley is gonna be fine, there's no signs of infection and there's no signs of organ rejection... Her new heart is working fine..... It's normal for Lesley to experience what can appear to be complications but as I don't have to tell you Rick, it sometimes takes a patient's system alittle time to adjust" Monica explained after putting a hand up at Rick
" Monica, thank you..."
" Just make sure Rick when she does go home, you're careful about things that go around her and whom I don't have to tell you that Lesley still is very fragile with everything and one infection could put her at risk" Monica replied
" It's funny you know I've been a cardiologist more than half my life, seen over 100s of patients, and yet hearing this is never easier especially when it's your wife or husband that's the patient...." Rick looked at the floor in the lounge
" It's no secret that my jealousy had always set out to hurt or bring drama between Lesley and I.... When you were first together I saw it as she just took you from me and set out to hurt her for it nearly costing my friendship with you... But to look at it now and to see her this way... Rick I want you to know I'm sorry for that...." Monica replied
" Monica the past is in the past.... And I think for Lesley not that I will speak for her, I think she has let that all go... And she has been very grateful that you have done everything you can to help her.... I know I am very thankful for that..." Rick replied and turned towards Monica
" Go and sit with her Rick..... She'll be happy that you're there...."
Rick moved to go inside while Lesley was asleep but sensed Rick was there and she started to come around herself again..
" R-Rick... What's going on... " Lesley looked at Rick confused
" It's alright Les..... Everything is ok.... You had a very minor scare, nothing too serious..... But the Good news is you're gonna be ok.... What's even better is I'm taking you home first thing in the morning..." Rick replied and moved to give Lesley a kiss on her forehead..
" I'm really gonna be alright.... There's nothing that went wrong with the transplant...?" Lesley asked
" Everything is good, the anti-rejection medication is doing it's job. You have gotten alot better than how you were a few weeks ago....I can finally ease now that you're better and you're gonna be going home.... Jessie had asked if we would like her to stay with you during the days that you're home with no one there. I think it's a good idea so that is easier on you..."
" I think that would be great... I'd hate that she has to see me like this and that I can't do all that I should be able to but I'm glad that I have people who will help me through everything.." Lesley replied with a small smile
