Life during Christmas for you wasn't that normal. Then again, neither was life with a touring musician.
When Izzy had decided to leave Guns N' Roses, you were saddened for him. But when you got to see with your own eyes, the weight of the world lift off of his shoulders, you understood why he did it. He seemed free; ready to take on the world, even if it was just you and him forever.
So while mostly everyone you knew was back home celebrating the holidays inside with hot chocolate by the fire, there you and Izzy were, rolling down the freeway; off on another adventure across the country.
Your mind was going back to all of those years he had spent on the road, and all of those times he had missed opportunities like this. It made you wonder how it made him feel.
"Iz?," you asked, turning to take his appearance. He hummed in response to you calling his name. His usual cigarette hung loosely on his bottom lip, and his dark shades covered his eyes. His locked hair blew slightly in the air from the open window. He looked relaxed; a sight you had rarely seen in the years prior to this.
You changed your mind, deciding not to bring up the past, as you enjoyed seeing him content. Instead, you asked him a different question.
"If you had to ask Santa for anything this year, what would you ask for?," you let out jokingly. He snorted slightly at your question.
"Why do I have to ask Santa? Why can't I ask you?," he replied, scanning the open road in front of him. You laughed, seeing him smile at your reaction.
"Fine...if you must...," you joked, waiting for his answer.
"Marry me...," he said, more so as a statement than a question. You looked at him with wide eyes making him laugh even more.
"Iz, are you serious?!," you asked in disbelief.
"Hell yeah," he replied, grabbing your hand, intertwining your fingers together. "Whad'ya say?"
You looked at him and the open road ahead of you both. You felt free and high on life with Izzy. So as you traveled down the freeway together, you felt it was just the start to the rest of your life together.
"I say...hell yeah..."
