Your old neighbour (Lucy Bronze)

Introduction

Hi, this is the first time I've ever even tried writing a story but after reading them for so long and coming up with many ideas I've decided to write. Please let me know if I've done anything wrong or what I can do to improve.
Enjoy :))))

My name is Ruby Moore and I'm 16 years old. Growing up I lived with only my parents in Berwick-upon-Tweed until we had to move when I was 11.

I don't remember much of what happened other than that was when I was diagnosed with leukaemia and it changed my life.

Not only did I have to leave my childhood home and friends I also had to leave Lucy.
Lucy was like a sister to me despite being 14 years older.

We would always play football on a small patch of grass outside her house, and she would tell me stories of her and all the girls she plays with a Manchester City. I wanted to be just like her but sadly as time went on I had to move down to London, not being allowed to play football because of cancer and having no contact with Lucy made it impossible.

I gave up the football dream after a while but I have never forgotten about the great times I had playing.

I still check up on Lucy now and again, I've found out she still plays for Manchester city like she always told me she would and that she just won the euros with England. I couldn't be prouder.

Despite living on opposite ends of the country, I still have that little bit of hope that maybe, just maybe someday we will meet again and I can tell her how much I missed her.

It's not even like I can visit her, I only have a small waitressing job at a small coffee shop so I'm not earning much, I also moved out of my parent's house so they could travel the world (currently in New Zealand) so I'm living alone in the north of London. I don't have enough money to go up to Manchester, but even if I did I wouldn't have the guts. I mean what am I supposed to say if I ever saw Lucy,
"Oh hey luce, sorry I haven't spoken to you in 5 years. I had cancer and moved to a whole new city."

Not going to happen.

If I'm being honest this book probably won't last very long because I can't commit to anything and posts will be irregular but ill try and post at least 1 a day.
Let me know if there are any problems or suggestions you guys have.
