It's 1:30 and we have to leave very soon but of course, Sophie is still doing her makeup. "Soph hurry up!" I shout up the stairs.
"I'm coming just wait, Jesus!" Sophie replies, shouting just like me.
Once she finally comes down we get into a taxi which was sent for us instead of getting a train. I quickly post a picture of us on Instagram and put in my AirPods to at least try and calm my nerves.

After a long and painful drive, we finally arrived. There was lots of traffic so we were running late. As soon as we got to the venue where the event is being held, we had to rush in.
I'm not old enough to drink so I just get a glass of water and sit at a table waiting for Sophie to be back with her champagne.
The first person begins to speak, it was an older man, around 50. I zoned out, to be honest, not understanding anything he said anyway, but Sophie seemed interested so I didn't say anything. After about 2 more people spoke, I got bored even more than before, so I excused myself to use the bathroom.
I left the stool and was washing my hands when I heard a voice coming from outside the toilets. A voice I haven't heard in 5 years. A voice I have wanted to listen to since I left Manchester that day. It was Lucy.

Before I could even think about my next move, the door opened and it proved all my previous thoughts to be true. Lucy Bronze just walked into the bathroom.
Not knowing what to do I freeze. Just staring at the older woman with her brunette hair in a slicked-back ponytail. Staring into her brown eyes that are starting to fill with tears. My mouth drops open and we both continue to look at each other. I don't know what to do but luckily I don't have to do anything because Lucy does instead.
"Ruby," she says, her voice barely above a whisper.
I run into Lucy's arms and just hold her, clinging to the back of her blazer, not planning on letting go. To my surprise, she does the same back, I have wanted this for so long.
