"I want you to come to camp with me," Lucy states out of the blue. I went up to Manchester and stayed with her for a while as I had no plans.
"Sure, am I allowed to come?"
"Yeah, I've spoken to Sarina about it before and she's fine with it, plus I think the girls would love to meet you"
"Alright, sounds good"
———————————————————————————
"RUBY!!" I hear the recognisable screech of Georgia stanway and see her running towards me.
"Hi G, you alright?" I ask while wrapped up in a hug.
"I'm great, why didn't you tell me you were coming?" She asks sounding disappointed at the fact I haven't spoken to her much recently, well I haven't really spoken to any of the girls I met at the cafe.
"Lucy only asked me to come yesterday, blame it on her"
"I will," Georgia states whilst walking over to Lucy.
After greeting all the girls and being introduced to many new faces, I hear a Dutch accent from behind me.
"Hello ruby, it's lovely to meet you," Sarina greets me rather formally, I take her hand and shake it while introducing myself.
"Hi, it's lovely to meet you"
The schedule for today was just getting everyone settled into camp so I didn't have to do much, which is good because I've been feeling rather sick and fatigued. I must have looked a bit out of it when all the team had gathered in mine and Lucy's room because I soon felt a comforting hand on my back.
"You alright?" The calming voice of Lucy asks.
"Yeah I'm good," I reply but Lucy doesn't fall for my lies.
"No your not," she says. Shit what do I do? Keep on lying or admit how terrible I've been feeling recently?
"What do you mean?"
"Ruby," she sighs "you've lost lots of weight," she says, taking me by surprise.
"No I haven't Lucy," lying wants again.
"Rubes I'm not blind, neither are the other girls. I've had Leah, Beth, Georgia and Ellie all come and ask me if you're ok or sick. Do you know how worrying that is?"
"Just stop worrying I'm fine," I say, getting rather bored of this conversation. Over the past weeks Sophie hasn't left me alone about my weight and it's honestly just annoying now.
"It's my job to worry," she says.
"Lucy you're not my mum," I whisper shout angrily before standing up and walking out the room.
I must've been sat in the hallway a while before I start to feel a wave of sickness come over me at the same time someone exits the room I was just in.
"Ruby," I can hear a distant scouse accent but can't quite match it to anyone's face.
My head is spinning and when I try to stand up, my legs give out. I'm grabbing on to the random person in front of me and try to pull myself up. But then I see black.
