The weather cascading across the land of Hyrule was searing and dry. The lands were suffering from a heat wave, which was common in the summertime. The people would think of this heat as a sign of Din coming down to give her blessings. Others just thought it to be a simple weather change. Though many who would travel loved this weather, two travelers despised this scorching heat.
Hyrule Field was particularly harsh and arid that day, the heat felt like it would never end. Two travelers wandered the plains for what seemed like hours. One traveler was a Hylian who had a scowling expression full of resentment during the entire journey. Another was a Twili who followed the Hylian, even if it is odd to see one in the light world without a reason, but that did not stop strangers from denying them a ride through the fields, let alone in town.
Nydore was young, however he looked like he lived on the streets. His blue hair was a mess as if he had hardly taken care of it, his eyes were a pale yellow that seemed dead inside. His attire screamed homeless Hylian, however he was more well off than he let on, he was just lazy as hell about taking care of himself.
Xayvion however was a young and tall Twili, hiding his face behind a cloak, eyes as yellow as the golden sun. He seemed elegant yet timid, especially around Nydore, recently. The markings that were exposed gleaned a vibrant blue upon his greyish blue skin that peeked out of the sleeves of his cloak.
Nydore and Xayvion have been traveling for quite a few months together, ever since they became close. Xayvion was Nydore’s partner after he found him in the world of light enjoying the natural life the light had brought. Xayvion felt safe around Nydore when they first met, however that changed later down the line.
At first Nydore was kind and caring and very welcoming to Xayvion’s stories, then changed his tone when Xayvion did not agree to what he wanted or did not feel the same about someone he was complaining about. Xayvion prefered to stay neutral to those he had yet to know rather than trust the word of another, though it became harder to feel that way with Nydore around. Nydore would also become cold and distant which worried the poor Twili. They would always feel it was their fault for how Nydore reacted despite how nice they tried to be to the Hylian. Though after some time Xayvion felt no reason to keep his thoughts at bay and would speak his mind, though that made Nydore aggressive. Whenever Nydore became unreasonable Xayvion just chose to keep quiet.
This trip across Hyrule Field was no different.
Xayvion tried to be patient with Nydore for the months they had been together, but they felt they would be better off without Nydore after all the strife they have taken from him. He had yet to bring himself to admit so; He felt he may have jumped to conclusions, which made it more difficult to be honest not only to Nydore, but himself.
“By Hylia this would be easier if we had a cart,” Nydore whined. “Why do they have to be so expensive?!”
“You would have had the rupees for one,” Xayvion said calmly. “But you insisted we ate at a place that charges so much for a single Bokoblin leg.”
“Hey,” Nydore jabed. “That is the only place in town I feel is worth eating at.”
“You eat there a bit too often.”
    “Are you saying I’m fat?”
    “No-”
“Or wasteful of my rupees?”
    “Well...yes, however-”
“You’re a Twili, how can you know anything about taste around here?”
“My world is not that different. I have told you before that-”
“You always do this,” Nydore groaned. “You always question how I live my life. It gets hard to agree with what you say anymore, you are such a bitch at times man.”
“I...,” Xayvion slouched a little. “I did not mean to...come off as such.”
“You should be more considerate then,” Nydore said in a cold manner. “I am getting tired of feeling hurt when you do this to me. I love you, so why do you talk to me like a child?”
“I...merely wish to help you live a better life. No fancy food place is worth being on the streets. I do not want you to be-”
“A bum?,” Nydore assumed. “Way to go now I feel like crap.”
    “I was not saying-”
“Yes you were,” Nydore grew snippy. “You know what? Maybe we should just stop talking to each other until we are in town.”
“Please do not be that way...”
“Why not? You have nothing nice to say, you freakin’ ass, so It probably would be best for us both to shut up.”
    “...,” Xayvion sighed. “...Right.”
