It's been a few months since the incident and since the talk Odell and I had. We found out that the girl had indeed lied. She was pregnant, just not with Odell's baby. When Odell found out, he dropped everything he was doing and flew to my house to tell me. Since then, we haven't discussed it. He keeps trying to bring up marriage, but honestly, I don't know if I still want that.

It was May now, and the whole month was dedicated to Gabby since her birthday is May 20th. We do something every weekend until her birthday. On her actual birthday, she throws a fantastic party. Then, on the last weekend of the month, we fly out of the country and celebrate one last time. As I said, May is her month.

I had just pulled up to August's house and parked when I saw Odell come out of August's house. I turned the car off and got out. As I closed and locked my door, Odell made eye contact. He frowned and then walked towards his car; wait, was he not going to speak to me?

"Odell?" I questioned.

He stopped mid-motion opening his car door. "Yes?"

"What's going on?" I asked him.

He shook his head, "I gotta go." Without another word, he got in the car and started it up. I started to walk towards his car, but he took off around the fountain and down the driveway. What the hell? I went to the door and went inside. I still had the extra key.

"August," I called out.

"In here," he replied.

I walked towards the back and into his recording studio. Glad to know he was back to making music again. I'm not biased, but he does make good music. When I got in the back, I sat in the chair next to him.

"Glad to see you back in here," I told him.

He nodded, "Yeah, I have a lot of inspiration around me. Are you ready for a month-long of fun activities?"

I smiled, "Yeah. Is Gabby, being pregnant and all."

"Oh, more than ready. She is not letting being five months pregnant hold her back. Honestly, she barely looks pregnant. Her bump is as small as yours was at five months." He explained.

I giggled. "Of course. Sounds like Gabby."

"Where is my favorite niece?"

"She and mom have some bond. I have to pry Avalon off mom to get her to come home. I'll go pick her up later, but she rather spends time with mom and dad. Should I feel offended?" I said.

Aug laughed. "I don't think so. Avalon loves you. I hope our baby won't be like that."

"If mom and dad spoil your baby as they do with Avalon, you won't ever see your baby," I joked. August laughed and nodded. "Where is Gabby?"

"Upstairs sleeping." He stopped what he was doing and turned and looked at me. He was about to get serious. "What I want to know is what you're doing to my man Odell."

"What do you mean?"

"He was just here, upset. Why won't you marry him?" August said.

Shit, I knew something was wrong. Why would Odell come to August instead of talking to me, though? "I-I don't know, August. Marriage is a huge commitment. I don't know if either of us is ready for it."

"I see your point. Your nervous he'll mess up, aren't you?"

I have trust issues. Every since the last few times that he cheated, my trust in him plummeted. I can't trust him, and that scares me." I stood up and crossed my arms. I began pacing back and forth. "What if I marry him and he cheats again? August, I won't be able to handle that."

August leaned back in his chair. "Sis, I get it, which is why I'm on your side. I respect any decision that you make. It's your life, and as you said, marriage is not an easy thing. Take your time, love, and you'll figure it out." He told me.

I nodded. "Great. Off that topic" I laughed, and August chuckled. "What does Gabby has planned for this weekend?"

"It's a girl's weekend. Today it's a spa day, from facials to nails. Us men, we get to go to a bar and relax. So take this time to have fun and enjoy yourself." He told me.

I sighed and nodded. Then I hugged him and left the room. I wondered the house, up to their room. Inside I found gabby, but she wasn't sleeping. She was in the bathroom getting ready.

I walked up to the door and knocked. "Hey girl, how are you feeling?"

Gabby smiled at me. "Other than pregnant. I feel great. You should have told me how hungry I would always be." She teased.

We both giggled, "Yeah, that won't go away even after you have your baby. By the way, do you know what you're having?"

She stood with a smile. She grabbed something and walked over to me. She held out an envelope, and I took it from her. I looked at it briefly and then looked up at her, confused.

"The gender is a surprise. You will be the only one to know. So can you please throw me a gender reveal?"

I smiled; I should have known she was up to something. I nodded, "It would be my honor." I already had her baby shower planned out when she turned eight and a half months. So, I'm looking forward to this.

She pulled me close and hugged me. "Thanks. You do so much for me. I love you."

"And I always will, you're my sister, and I love you too."

~30 minutes later ~

I lay on the massage table, getting the best massage I've had in such a long time. The last time I got a massage, Odell gave it to me. He still hasn't contacted me and won't answer my text messages either. I hope he was okay. I inhaled and exhaled deeply, trying to forget Odell. He always clouded my thoughts. I do love him. But do I trust him enough to marry him? Am I ready for marriage? Right then, I knew the perfect person to ask, my parents. Sure they had a rough couple of last years but they were madly in love when it was just August. So I can ask them.

After my massage, I met Gabby and a couple of her close friends in the nail salon area. Her friends surrounded Gabby. I smiled and then looked at the colors. I ended up going with deep blue and white tips. I then took my seat, and the nail technician began working on my feet first. I closed my eyes to rest, and just as I did, I got a phone call. I pulled my phone out, and a picture of Odell holding Avalon as a baby was on the screen. It's the screen saver I gave him.

"Hello," I answered.

"When can you come over..." he asked? So no apology, no explanation as to why he's been ghosting. "I'll explain everything later," he added. I guess my hesitation told him that he needed to add that part.

"I'm out with Gabby. And it would help if you were out with August. We can meet up at your place after I'm done. I'll text you when I'm headed your way," I explained.

"Thank you, Ash; see you soon. Bye."

"Bye, Odell" I ended the call and sighed.

Gabby tapped me on the shoulder, causing me to jump. "Sorry, I just wanted to check if everything was okay. I heard you say, Odell".

I gave her a small smile and nodded. "Everything is good. Do you mind if I leave after this? I know you had the whole day planned."

Gabby nodded. "That's fine. I'll take you to dinner tomorrow night."

I nodded, then she turned back to her friends, and I relaxed. What could Odell want?
