Chapter 7

After filling out the form I stood up and walked to the counter to hand the form in.

The lady, whose name Ive learnt is lily, was stood behind at the register waiting for someone to walk in.

When lily saw me she stood straight and started smiling at me.

I stopped in front of her and put the filled out form on the counter with a grin on my face.
"All done."

The waiter picked it up and read through it. She let out a hum of approval and nodded slowly.
"Just need to see some form of ID, drivers, school or-"

I pulled my drivers license out my purse and showed her it.

I pursed my lips waiting for her to say something, anything.

"Let me show the boss" lily gave me a bright smile before turning around and walking through the back with the slip.

I took a quick sweep of the shop not seeing anyone here. No workers nor customers.

"Where is everyone?" A gruff voice said.

I let out a loud shriek and turned around to see a blue eyed man with grey hair and a gigantic burn mark down half of his face staring at me.

He gave me a little smirk before saying "sorry darling didn't mean to frighten you".

Something about him made me feel very uncomfortable but before I could respond I heard the door open again so I looked back and saw lily walking out with a giant smile.

I was gonna say a quick sorry to the poor man but when I looked back he was gone. I frowned before turning forward and seeing her back behind the counter.

"You have the job" she clapped and jumped up.

She passed me a sheet of paper with a time table on it.

"These are the days you work, but we assume your a high school student because your age so you have night shifts" she took a deep breath before continuing.
"You can also take 5 weeks in total off. You get payed $10 an hour" she gave me a sweet smile.

I slowly started nodding my head and looked down at the time table.

Mondays: 5:00PM-10:00PM Thursdays: 5:00PM-10:00PM
Fridays: 6:00PM-11:00PM
Saturday: 10:00AM-4:00PM

"If you want any changes, just tell me and we can do different times and if you wanna go home early you can" lily finished.

I looked up and gave her a big smile. "It looks good to me"

Lily put her hands together and looked around seeing no one here.

"Hmph, well no one is here so" she trailed off in thought, lily looked like she was having an internal battle with herself until she let out a sigh and put her hands down.

"Right so behind the staff doors if you go through and go into the third door on the right there's a locker room, it's where you put all your things in, you can check now or on Thursday when you start but-"

I cut her ramble off by putting my hand up and taking over.

"I'll check it out on Thursday."

Lily slowly nodded before giving me another large smile.

"So do you want anything to drink? Or food?" She grinned.

I looked around and my eyes stopped on a clock.
It read 3:35PM.

"Ima head out, need to get home"
I gave lily a little smile.

We shared our goodbyes while I walked out the empty cafe.

I started my long 30 minute walk home.

When I made it home I was sweaty and very tired. My brothers car was in the driveway, oh the joys.

I walked to the front door and before I could even touch the handle the door was pulled open.

There stood my brother with the biggest glare etched on his face.

Noah gripped my arm and dragged me inside the house.

He literally threw me, while I went flying to the floor he slammed the door shut.

I let out a little groan of pain when I landed arm first into the floor.
I quickly scrambled to my feet and turned to face him just to see him not there.

I tilted my head to the side in confusion. Where is he?

That's when I felt it, he had a tough grip on my hair and spun me around to face him.

I let out a shriek of pain and looked up at him with blurry eyes.

"The school called me, where were you hm? WHERE WERE YOU!?" He demanded.

"I-i got a j-job" I whimpered.

He's never done this. What is he doing!

If looks could kill I'd be 6ft under with my parents.

I felt a horrible pain on the left side of my face.

He slapped me.
