Hagrid opens the door and Hermione screams, Hagrid’s clearly been beaten badly, covered and bruises and cuts, with a black eye and likely some broken ribs.
Blue: Nice, what did the other guy look like?
Hermione smacks me on the back of my head and I mutter in pain, Hagrid is questioned about what happened.
Hagrid: O-Oh nothing happened at all, I.....fell down er flight of stairs
Hermione: Have you went to see giants?
Hagrid: Yes! Uhh I mean No!
Blue:.....Hagrid......
Hagrid: O-Okay I did
We tell Hagrid that Harry was attacked by Dementors and Hagrid demands to know what’s been going on since he left. Harry agrees to tell Hagrid about his summer but only if he tells us what he’s been up to.
Hagrid: Oh fine, I left with Madame Maxime after term last year and we traveled like we were going on holiday because there was a ministry tail on us
Blue: Ooooh I see, finessing the Ministry, you make me so proud Hagrid
Ron: What did you do after that?
Hagrid: Well once we had given em the slip, we kept going, trying to use as little magic as possible.
Blue: Wow that must've been a cool adventure for you
Hagrid: It was some trip, we trekked through the mountains to find the giants, we were also being wary of potential Death Eaters in the area as we already knew that Voldemort had plans to recruit them as well.
Harry: He wants Giants as well?
Hagrid: Yes but we found them first, a group of 70 or 80, all that was left. Some wizards had killed some and then many giants killed each other, Dumbledore believes it is the fault of wizards.
Blue: It's always like that
Hermione: What happened next?
Hagrid: Well we kept pushing the giants far away, forcing them to band together and live with one another just like when they used to have many separate tribes. We approached the group in the morning with a gift from Dumbledore for the Gurg.
Blue: The what now?
Hagrid: It means Chief, his name was Karkus and we told them that we would come back the next day and talk. When that day came, we brought another present and spoke to the Gurg on Dumbledore’s behalf.
Harry: Do they speak English?
Hagrid: Karkus didn’t speak English, but he had translators, he was interested in hearing about Dumbledore’s perspective since he’d heard that Albus had tried to prevent the killing of giants in Britain.
Blue: Oh that's good
Harry: So are they on our side now?
Hagrid: Sadly no, we agreed to come back the next day and talk more but that night there was a great fight, and a new Gurg was installed, Golgomoth.
Blue: I thought he said Gilgamesh
Hagrid: He has already chosen his friends and they were the Death Eaters. Me and Madam Maxine reckoned that we try to talk with the outlying giants who had been keen to listen to us before we sought them out in the caves while the Death Eaters tracked them.
Ron: What happened then?
Hagrid: We spoke to a few who seemed to like what they had to say, but they were killed by Golgomath’s lot almost immediately.
