Chapter 11 - The Proposition

Shino's P.O.V
On the outside I was blank, just trying to make my way to the address Kol gave me. But inside I was exploding with emotions.

I still had so many questions, mainly about how he was able to stay under the radar for so long, how he found me, and 1,000 more.

Finally, I arrived at the building, caught a little off guard by how ordinary it was. But I never got to drink all the surroundings in when the door swung open. The arms of my frenemy Kol reached forward and yanked me through the doorway, dragging me to a new place.

" ok, I've been talking about myself far to much. How about you? What have you been up to all this time?" My uncle asked, interest in the same eyes I see every time I look in the mirror.

Me and Fernandias were sitting at his dining table discussing topics like a regular family would. It felt so good to be talking to someone of my own blood, something I haven't done in years.

" well in summary- I got accepted into Monarch Academy, made fiends, created a vigilante club, found love, lost friendships both relationships wise and death, my remaining group and I got kidnapped, had to watch my boyfriend nearly die, and a bunch of other stuff." Yeah, summarized that like a pro.

My uncle just starred at me, a million thoughts running through his mind. After a minute of confusing silence, he shook his head and sputtered out " ok I know a lot of this, but right now, how's life."

Oh so I summarized my story in the past year for no reason.

I tried to minimize stuff since the beginning of the school year, my new roommates, Artemis and his parents, etc. but the whole situation that Arty was going through seemed to catch his attention.

" so he's basically going through what you went through as well?" He questioned.

" well not exactly, it's better and worse in certain areas. He never met his parents, he was raised in an orphanage all his life and only recently learned that his parents were killed in an accident when he was only about a year old. That and also he knows that his parents death was not on account of his quirk."

" you do know your parents death was not your fault, you couldn't control yourself?" He asked worryingly.

" don't worry, I've come to terms with it, I know the truth." I reassure, but the issue still seems to be resting in his soul.

My uncle's eyes were pained at that, sympathy flowing from his older facial features. But his face seemed to light up " hey, maybe I could help. After all I did find you." He offered, motioning to me.

I thought about his offer, maybe he could help. But I also felt a bit guilty. Not only was I talking about Arty's private Buisness, I had made more progress on my blood line and haven't helped him at all! Maybe I should allow his help.

Fernandiaz seemed to notice me deep in thought and quickly went " I didn't want to put you in a tough situation, I just thought it could help. You don't have to if you don't want to."

I didn't want him to to feel bad, he just wanted to help. Wow, I see where I get a lot of my personality now.

" oh don't worry about it, it's just-........ it Artemis' Buisness, his private problem and I don't want him to become uncomfortable with it." I answered sincerely, his anxiety would probably skyrocket if more people found out about his sad origin story.

I looked back at my related doppelgänger, something deep in his eyes like there was more in him, more he wanted to let out. As if he could read my thought, which I'm starting to believe he can, sighed " I can't lie, I am tickled pink at the fact that I am spending time with my beloved nephew, but I want to discuss some topics with you, mainly about your quirk"

My quirk?

I gave him a quizzical look, causing a small breathless chuckle to be released from him as he stood up " come on, I'll show you"

I was lead down a small corridor staircase to a large room, high ceilings, charts, experimental set ups, everything. It's basically what Dr. Emmett Brown's office from Back to the Future would look like just bigger and more modern.

" now son, it doesn't take a genius to know what a guilty teen is thinking about, and why they're feeling so guilty. I have a feeling your still conscious of your quirk and being around others....." he began, causing me to think about that.

I mean yeah I do feel extremely nervous about my quirk and I don't really like being around others that much, but I don't see how

Oh..... yep now I see it.

My uncle continued, " but what does take a genius, is learning to control your quirk along with its pros and cons." His eyes pleaded with me, but I still didn't know what he was asking.

Geez I'm bad picking up signals ( FTO season 5 reference!)

Fernandiaz sighed as he explained " I want you to come by this place so we can work on your quirk together. As a family."

My brain seemed to loose signal to the world, my uncles words as 'family', the worry of my quirk and friends, and wanting to learn more about my heritage seemed to stab me though my mind and cling to the offer. I couldn't muster a 'no.'

" Umm alright, sure!" I answered awkwardly, but that seemed to float his boat.

" excellent! We'll meet here again tomorrow, try to make it a daily thing maybe so the training can be repetitive."

We talked for a while, discussing and just having a family chat. That word sends sparks through my veins and makes me giddy with relief and joy.

I have a blood member who's actually alive!!!

After some more talking, I make my way back home, trying to come up with a believable reason as to why I will be gone almost daily after school.

ALMOST A WHOLE MONTH!

Sorry if the chapter was a bit jumbled, I spent the entire month working on this chapter, adding a little more almost every day and just finishing now.
