I don't know how Jack Frost works but IN MY REALITY he (Jeongin) feels cold and kinda ill during summers (as if he caught a cold), and okay and kinda "hot" during colder months of the year
Disclaimer: Alex = y/n (I'm just tired of writing from the second person)
Also, I don't know Alex's gender, so let's pretend they can share a dorm with Minho🙌
Jeongin can't believe it's happening.
It all starts at night when he wakes up at 4 am, sweating. The thick fabric of his hoodie is sticking to his back, and his joggers are rolled almost up his knees.
He's half-asleep, half-grossed out by the sweat and heat to care, though. That's why he just takes the hoodie off and buries his nose back into his slightly damp pillow. But then he wakes up a few hours later, sweating even more, and it hits him.
The autumn has come.
See, people might think Jeongin is insane, (and that's why he keeps quiet about his uniqueness), but summers are the toughest seasons for him. Because summers are COLD.
It's about the way the sun gains the unnecessary confidence and starts shoving its round and shiny sides in everyone's faces. It's about the wind loosing its sharpness, becoming softer, thicker, making Jeongin's lungs feel as if they are filled with water.
It's unbearable. Especially, the 3 layers of clothing he needs to wear, and the glances and whispers of people behind his back, thinking he's gone insane.
So yeah, Jeongin hates summers. But the most tormenting thing about all of this is that he can't be too touchy with Alex. Because it's summer, and they are always hot, and "omg, Innie, your fingers are TOO HOT, STOP IT".
But the autumn has come. Finally, it's here.
Jeongin stares at the ceiling. The air smells like his sweat. The shirt sticks to his skin; the sheets are wet under his back. The summer can go fuck itself, he thinks mirthfully. The autumn is here.
The floor is cold under his bare feet when Jeongin finally sits up in his bed. Goosebumps run down his shoulders when he throws his shirt aside. The wind slaps him in the face when he opens the window, and he almost bursts into tears, his cheeks hurting from the wind's harsh fingers.
Finally, Jeongin is alive.
Alex's room is a few floors higher. Jeongin takes the stairs, not having the willpower to wait for the elevator. He's alive, the blood is pumping loudly in his ears, and he needs, needs to release it.
He forgets it's 7:45 am and knocks on the door impatiently.
"Who the fuck is— Oh, it's you."
Apparently, Jeongin also forgets that Alex is living with a roommate, and this roommate is not the easiest person to be around in the mornings.
Minho meets him with a groggy expression on his pale face and a mess of hair on his head. He smells like coffee and annoyance, but Jeongin is too excited to be intimidated by it.
"Hello to you, too, Minho-hyung," he chirps happily and looks past his shoulder. "Is Alex inside?"
Minho stares at him as if he's gone insane. "Yes, still asleep," he frowns, and rubs his eyes. "And you are here so early because?.."
Jeongin rolls his eyes and smiles, "The autumn is here, hyung."
"It's been here for the past couple of weeks, Iennie. Are you sure, you okay?"
"Positively," Jeongin nods, but his patience is slowly fading away. "I'm in my best condition, hyung, don't worry. Can I come in?"
Minho gives him one last pointy stare, making Jeongin belatedly realise that he's still not wearing anything except for his pants. The realisation almost makes him want to shrink with embarrassment. But then Minho finally steps aside from the doorway, and leaves Jeongin some space to breathe.
Alex is asleep when Jeongin enters their part of the room. Under two blankets. Hugging a big pillow. With the hood of their hoodie on their head. Is it creepy that Jeongin's chest starts to ache at the sight of them being like this? Because he hopes, it's not.
"I don't know what's wrong with you, Iennie, but if you came here to wake them up, you're right on time. They have a lecture in an hour." Minho's voice breaks the curse, and almost makes Jeongin jump. "Do you want some coffee, by the way?"
"Y-yeah, thank you, huyng," Jeongin is torn between cursing the oldest out and staying silent because of The Sleeping Beauty next to him. But then his hyung opens his mouth once again, peeking out of the kitchen, and Jeongin scrawls, defeated.
"You have 5 more minutes until the coffee is ready. I'll come back then, and I won't leave the room after that," Minho warns and finally succeeds in making Jeongin's ears turn pink.
His huyng is annoying, Jeongin thinks. But, yeah, he's right, he had a reason to come here so early.
"Babe?" Jeongin finally sits on the edge of the bed and pats the mountain of blankets his human is. Alex doesn't answer, doesn't move a muscle. And it makes Jeongin coo, because yeah, he's that whipped.
He can't help but reach out and touch them after that. Their nose at first. Their forehead, then, carefully combing through their hair and taking the naughty strands away from their face.
"Sunshine, it's almost 8 am," Jeongin doesn't want to be too pushy. Seeing them here, fast asleep, got some senses back into his system, and he realises that he, actually, can wait. The autumn is here, yes, but Alex is also here, all soft and warm and adorable, and Jeongin is so damn gone.
But he still tries, softer this time, "Babe?"
Alex hums in response, starting to stir.
Nice. That's nice.
What's next? Maybe, a peck on their cheek?
Jeongin knows it's silly, to be so happy because of a simple peck on the cheek. It's, maybe, even pathetic, his feelings, his attraction. The way he ran here first thing in the morning as if being possessed. He didn't even brush his teeth or changed into normal DORM-APPROPRIATE clothes...
Is he too needy? Is it uncomfortable for Alex? For Minho? For others? Is he a fool for expressing his love like this? Is he—
"Kiss me more," Alex's voice is low and groggy, and for a second, Jeongin looses the train of his thoughts.
"Kiss you more, huh?" He chuckles, disobeying.
Alex's eyes are still shut when they try to find him by touch.
Maybe, it's okay to love like this, Jeongin thinks, leaving another kiss on Alex's nose. He doesn't think about anything else after that, because how can you think of anything when you are kissing your partner?
Alex opens their eyes only after their lips were kissed for, like, 10 times in a row, and Minho had already entered the room with a knowing smirk on his lips.
"What are you doing here, Jeonginnie?" Alex manages to ask between playing staring with Minho and sticking their tongue at him.
"Oh, I—" Jeongin doesn't know how to answer the question, because Minho is still behind his back, slurping his damn hot coffee and continuously rolling his eyes. But then he remembers what got him so excited so early in the morning, and decides to screw it. "Babe, the autumn is here. We can finally cuddle."
