Helping out her best friend by playing the lead in that music video project for university had seemed like an easy enough feat for art student Lorelai García. Only, it wasn't. Especially since not only Lorelai, but the whole first team of the FC Bar...

The evening had started out all right. Lorelai had been punctual for her late-night shift with Miguel at »Marina's«. Marina and Silvio had happily left to enjoy one of their rare evenings off, leaving the machinations of the café in the trusted hands of their employees. The customers all seemed really relaxed and happy to just enjoy a fine, laid-back evening in one of the many coffee bars in the city. All signs had pointed towards a wonderful, not too stressful evening waitressing at the café.
Boy, was she wrong.
Several events made that evening something oh so very »special«.
But first things first.
»Can you get that to the couple outside?« Miguel asked her.
It was a mild Sunday evening in Barcelona. Every available seat in the café was occupied by people looking for a wonderful evening at »Marina's«. Miguel and Lorelai had been quite busy ever since starting their shift only just an hour ago. Now it was around 8 PM, a time when Barcelonians tended to go out for dinner and a drink, so it wasn't all that surprising to find the inside of the café turned bar buzzing with lively conversations and people rounding up the counter and waiting to order drinks or snacks. The lights of the café added a golden glow to the warm interior, complimenting the dark wood and comfy seating arrangements. Music was blasting softly from the stereo Silvio had stationed at the end of the counter — as per usual set to one of Barcelona's very own independent radio stations that normally played stuff from local or at least Spanish artists, with the odd international hit to mix it up a bit.
Miguel had prepared a tray with a cup of coffee, a water bottle plus glass as well as a glass of beer, and now pushed it towards Lorelai, who had waited for the tray while leaning against the dark counter, having watched her co-worker prepare the drinks — it was a rare moment to rest for a minute this evening.
»Sure thing. Which one?« Lorelai asked as she took the tray.
»A very special treat for you!« he announced with a lop-sided grin on his handsome face. »Just look out for the girl dressed in everything the FC Barcelona fan store quite possibly has to offer. And if you see a guy looking like a Neanderthal who's acting as if his IQ is below 50 and sitting beside fan-girl number one, that's the right one.«
»Seriously?« she said, laughing along with Miguel at his description. She stretched her neck to peep through the glass door, but couldn't make out the couple Miguel had described from where she was. »People with an obsession for football are really starting to freak me out.«
Miguel chuckled as he started to clean the coffee machine. Lorelai gave him an appraising look — he rarely cleaned up after him, most of the time letting Marina or Lorelai do the dirty work. Slacker. »Not sure you're allowed to judge, Lori. What with you starting to give the sport more attention as of late.«
