Acting, as it turned out, was not a piece of cake. It wasn't even a crumb of a piece of cake. Seriously, where was the fun in doing the exact same thing at the exact same time — repeatedly? And all the waiting in between? It was more difficult than she'd thought, and it got tiring — and boring — really fast. At least that was what Lorelai felt after hours of work for the video. Her mouth tasted like sand; her hair felt like straw whenever she pushed a strand out of her face; her feet were starting to feel raw from the hundreds of times she had been walking down the beach already, and the flip flops weren't helping at all. She was surprised they weren't bleeding all over the place.
Suffice it to say, Lorelai had started to eagerly await every break she got. One of which thankfully had come around just a few minutes ago. She frowned. Damn, she really was a whiny bitch today, wasn't she? Sitting on a folding chair under a bright yellow parasol, she watched some of the crew members rearrange the set for the evening shooting of the band's concert in the video. A groan escaped her as she thought about the next scenes. They weren't done by a long shot yet. And it was only the first of three shooting days. She sighed. Jane's sets are better, she thought sourly.
The whole afternoon had been spent filming the band members fake-building the stage and herself walking along the beach alone, watching them from a distance, »unaware« of what was happening around her and the male attention she was getting. In one word, Neymar. And with him his takes — most of which she had to be around for. As the lead, Neymar naturally had been the centre of filming, continuously playing with two different footballs (one was normal; the other, thank you post-production, was ugly slime-green). He had kept doing some tricks, with people from the crew holding their breath while shooting and cheering during breaks.
Then there was the key scene; that particular shooting had certainly been a source for entertainment — all due to Neymar's incredibly original ideas of how to lose control of the ball after catching sight of »the girl«.
That scene was to be the trigger for the events happening for the rest of the video — which brought the rest of the FC Barcelona players into the picture. Everyone would get to kick the ball around, with Neymar trying to get the ball back, unintentionally following the path of »the girl« down the beach and through the streets of the city (the scenes for that they would film the following days). Only to find out that at the end of the video the ball had ended up back at the band's concert on the beach — with the girl he had set his eyes on at the beginning, to be more precise.
It really was a fun concept. Seeing the one and only Lionel Messi handling the ball while at the same time pretending to be an ice cream vendor at the beach was simply hilarious. She wasn't too keen on the »girl ends up with ball« part though — she was rather content with watching the professionals work their dribble magic instead.
Lorelai had to admit: it was kind of fun watching them goof around with the ball. There was a safe distance between she and them, of course; just to be sure that no ball would come flying her way. Filming her scenes when she knew somebody was kicking a ball behind her back had been scary enough.
