After putting Nova to bed, I went downstairs and to see all my brothers and Kya in the living room talking.
"Who do you think sent him?" Kya asks.
"I don't know, but if he was still alive, we could question him." said Deigo.
"How the fuck did he get in here in the first place?!" Growled Ronaldo.
"I'll check security footage and see what I can find." Angelo says while looking at his phone.
" I wish the damn bastard was still alive so I can make him suffer." Jonah said angrily.
" Same, but I'm surprised Nova was able to kill him, hell she stabbed him and cut his throat, she didn't even look scared. " said Jacob.
" Maybe Nova knows something of why he was here, he could have slipped something out while he was chasing her. " Deigo said.
"We should question her." Ronaldo nods.
"No" I said sternly making my presence known.
"Malcom how's Nova" Kya asked concernedly.
"She's fine just a cut, and you shouldn't question her she's been through enough already." Also, because I don't want her to feel pressured and interrogated.
"But Malcom she might know something useful." Deigo said.
"No, if Nova wants to talk about it, she will talk about it willingly." I said sternly without argument.
"But-"
"He's right, we can't force her to talk. When she ready she'll come to us." Christian spoke.
"We'll discuss more about this in the morning." Christian said while going up stairs. When everyone was finally upstairs, I went to the dining room. The broken shards from the vase were still there so I picked them up and throw them away I also picked up the bloody knife Nova used to stab the guy. She is so brave.
I out the knife in the sink and washed it. when I was done, I saw a gun on the floor near the island. The assassin must have dropped it when Nova stabbed him. On the gun there was a carving on it with initials H.S.
H.S? What could that mean?
I'll have Angelo take a look at it and do a background check on this. When I was done cleaning up, I went upstairs to my room but not before going to check on Nova. I cracked the door open enough for me to see her. She was sound asleep clutching her stuffed animal tiger. Little did she know is that we gave her that on her first birthday. It makes me smile that she still has it till this day.
When Nova came to live with us, I wanted to make up for lost time. We lost a lot of years of not seeing Nova growing up like, taking her to her first day of kindergarten, teaching her how to ride a bike, going to any of her sport games, helping her with her homework, reading her bedtime stories, and just being there for her to talk to. Now I find out that she's been through neglect and abuse for the past four years. I can only imagine the pain of what's she's been through. I want to give her a full body exam to see if she has any broken bones or infected wounds. Possibly get to know more about what's she's been through because I can tell she hasn't had a chance to have some closure and I'll be happy to give her some.
