Her eyes look down at the alarm clock that laid itself next to her on the bedside table. A small frown took place as the alarm clock read 2:17am. She squeezed her eyes shut and when she opened them again it was 2:32am. A silent sigh left her mouth as she moved her body back slightly. She was laying more to the right side of the bed then the left side. She had always slept on the left side of the bed when she was with Andrew because the left side was Dereks side. Andrew always had the right. She was unaware why but after Andrew had passed she found herself starting to sleep on the right side of the bed. She had no idea if this was for comfort or if it was because the bed felt empty. It may have just been because she had gotten use to sleeping on that side of the double bed. Meredith was pulled out of her thoughts as she felt the man she loves tighten his grip ever so slightly around her. Almost as if he wanted her to know its okay. 'You know. It never snows in Seattle but, Its. It is snowing.' Meredith says but as the words come out they are joined with a slight sigh. Her head thrusts itself back ever so slightly as the sigh had escaped with her words. A empty silence just so happens to take over the empty bedroom that was lit with just the light from the moon and the extremely dull street lamp that was placed outside a couple of houses down Merediths house. She turns her body slightly more to the right so she could face the window a bit better but as she does she hears a slight hum that finally replies to her words. A hum from the man who is holding her in his embrace but of a man who is also half asleep. A small smile of relief occupies her face as the woman in his arm was still slightly moving. She was desperately attempting to get comfortable on the double bed that they were both led on. Before he knew it. He was awake. His eyes fluttered for a moment until they fully opened to see the sight of empty eyes which belonged to his girlfriend. She was examining the snow fall from the window. His eyes watched her as she didn't move a inch. Minuets had past and all that had done had left him with a furrow on his face. Nick wouldn't admit it but he was definitely slightly confused. He was so concerned with what his girlfriend was feeling that he had overpassed the confusion. Concern continued to travel throughout his mind and the only thing he could do was question himself on whether to ask if his partner was feeling okay. 'Hey.' The man lifts his head up a tad bit more then it already was. He slightly hovered it over her head as he tried desperately to meet his girlfriends gaze. Although her head was still slightly rested against his chest he still hoped he would be able to catch her gaze. It was a long shot and he knew it. 'Are you okay?' Nick finds himself questioning the blonde who was laid between him as he placed a light kiss on her head. His eyes were not able to break contact with hers although hers were not in contact with his. He found himself in a awkward position as he observed her green eyes. He watched as they steadily redirected themselves from the window, to the curtain, to the much aged wardrobe that took place in the corner of the room. It took a while but the green eyes had finally landed themselves on the man who's arms she was currently laying in. 'Yeah. Im fine. Im okay.' A weak smile appears after she mutters her reply. Nick started to feel the confused feeling he had previously locked out as he looked down at her face. Although it was almost pitched black in the room they were was aware that this smile. This smile that desperately attempted to settle itself down on her face. It wasn't real. Nick knew something was wrong but he didn't want to push her. He didn't want her to push him away. She had pushed him away before and they hadn't seen each other for at least six months. He couldn't do that again. He didn't want her to push him away again. Concern was still running through his mind as he continued to observe her emotionless facial expression. He was carefully observing her as he watched her eyes grew empty again, she was pulled so far back in her own mind that her eyes did not compliment that painful weak smile that was still somehow located on her face. Nick sighed as he pulled Meredith more into his embrace. Only hoping that his girlfriend would be okay soon. The blondes body had somehow turned itself around, thrusting itself against the man who was holding her. She had laid her head on the left side of his chest inhope to hear his heartbeat. The two bodys were perfectly intertwined perfectly together. Leaving the man with only a warm breath that hit his bare chest every couple of seconds. A sigh followed with a whisper from Meredith herself. 'Night Nick.' She lets out, breaking the silence that filled the dark rooms atmosphere. 'Goodnight Meredith.' Nick responds as he moves his arms slightly. Somehow leaving the couple curled up in eachother. He was holding Meredith with so much emotion. He wanted to hold her closer to him in hope to take away anything and everything that was had left her in such discomfort and distress.

'Your still struggling to sleep?' The man sighs as he feels a slight nod tickle his chest. 'Whats wrong Meredith.' Nick questions as his eyes laid on the women he loves, who just couldn't fall asleep. It had been at least two hours since they both had said goodnight to each other. Yet neither of them had fallen asleep. Nick hadn't went to bed because he was very aware she was still awake. Although she was in a abyss: of her own thoughts he didn't want to leave her by herself. 'Its-. Im-. Its nothing. Nick. Go to sleep.' A soft mummer responds against his chest. 'Get up Mer.' He sighs, His arms unwrapping themself from the cuddle they had been holding since midnight. 'What?' She questions. Her body hadn't moved a inch in hours. 'Get up.' He repeats. His voice stern but full of concern. 'Why?' Her head lifts up to look at the body before her. A sigh of relief leaves nick as he sees her finally move. 'Were going downstairs.' He answers her previous question as he picks himself off the left side of the bed. He finds himself walking over to Merediths side and offering out a hand to help her up. 'Your stupid.' She remarks as she placed her minuscule hand in his much larger hand. The two walked down the stairs. Nick was in front of Meredith as they did so. He led her over to the kitchen. Although she was stood before him she was still far away. Her mind was so far into the ditch it had dug that Meredith was vacant. Unaware of anything going on around her. 'What are you doing!' Meredith slightly screeches as masculine arms pick her body up. Bridal style. 'Well my love. Im very aware, i believe you are as well. Tonight, you don't feel okay.' Meredith reaches his gaze as he carries on explaining himself. 'I want to help. I don't want to push you through. So, Im taking you out into the snow.' He finishes and slightly chuckles at the facial expression that laid itself comfortably on Merediths face. 'Trust me.' He smiles. 'What does that mean?' Meredith furrows her face as Nick walks her over to the coat hanger. Meredith watches as Nick pulls down his orangey-brown coat from the hanger. She bites her lip as she observes the man she loves struggle to put on his coat. Nick walks over to the backdoor and unlocks it, Walking out of it like a crab as he still held Meredith in his arms.

'Nick! Put me down you idiot!' Meredith playfully hitting his chest. Her yelling is quiet and soft. As Meredith lifts up her face her eyes lock with his. A small but truthful smiles occupies her face as Nick looks into her eyes. 'God. Meredith. Your eyes are-.' He starts to say but before he finishes his sentence he laughs. His gaze looks down at the woman who was now sat in the snow. 'You bitch!' Meredith laughs as she grabs a handful of snow and throws it at the lanky figure that stood before her. 'Oh. Were playing that game are we?' Nick chuckles as he kneels down  and rolls up a snowball. Throwing it at the woman who had just stood back up. 'Wait.' She sighed as the man knelt back down to get more snow. 'What's wrong?' Nick rushed himself over to the blonde who was holding onto her knees. 'Uh...' Meredith mutters but as she does she throws a giant snowball at nicks face. 'Meredith!' Nick exclaims whilst his hands attempted to wipe of the remaining snow that was in his hair. Although he was now in pain because of the cold, Nick couldn't be mad because she was finally laughing. Tonight had been hard for her. For the both of them but now. Now that didn't matter. All that mattered to nick was that he could hear her intoxicating laugh. 'Do you wanna make a snowman?' She just about asks through her laughter. 'Yeah.' He smiles as he throws the last part of the snow that was in his hair onto the floor. 'Okay.' She smiles at him. They stood there in silence. It was a long uncomfortable silence and neither of them knew why. 'I uh, I don't know how to make a snowman...' Meredith blurts out. 'You what? You don't know how to make a snowman?!' Nicks jaw drops as Meredith shakes her head. 'My dad was never there to show me and my mum just didn't care.' She shrugs of with a small laugh. 'Well, Lets make one together.' He smiles. 'Okay?'

'Its missing something.' Meredith sighs as her gaze keeps put on the snowman. 'Ohh.' Nick sighs before turning himself around. 'Huh? Nick?' Meredith clears her throat as she observes Nick walking inside and moments later outside. 'He was missing the carrot.' He meets her gaze before carrying on. 'The carrot for the nose.' He laughs. Waving around the carrot in his hands. 'Oh?' She laughs in a questioning look as her boyfriend passes her the carrot, leaving her with a carrot and a big smile. 'Go on!' Nick cheers on as he watches her be very careful putting the carrot on the snowman. 'Wow.'  She sighs as nick pulls his phone. 'say cheers!' He exclaims as he starts to take photos of her in-front of the snowman. 'Nick!' She yells as he flips the camera around and starts to take selfies with the snowman and his girlfriend.
