A renowned reporter is entrusted with the task of reporting on the most notorious gang in New York, and perhaps even the world. Naturally, one might wonder what could possibly go wrong.
Honestly, there are so many potential pitfalls. Just agreeing to take the job instantly transforms her life, and the news twists her own stories. She finds herself falling into an emotion she never imagined possible, and she's taking on more than she can handle.
And it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

"I'm sorry you want me to do what?" I sat open-mouthed, staring at the eyes of my boss in complete shock. The fucking dickhead is power-hungry.
"I want you to report on the gang,"
"The biggest gang known?! You want me to report on them? That is a death wish," I yelled, throwing my hands up in the air.
"Miss Smith. If you don't want to do this, I can easily give it to someone else,"
"No, I do," I breathed out, fiddling with my rings under the lip of the dark wooden desk perched on the laminate floor. "But everyone knows this gang. Nothing is new. The stories will fail."
"Make up stories then, Nicky. Who knows? Maybe the leader sleeps with people, is secretly gay, or even has no idea what he's doing, and it's a fluke. Lie, Miss Smith; it's what we do," at the end of his little speech, he leaned back, a slight creaking sound filling the room from his chair.
"I can do that," I muttered, rolling my eyes and slouching back in my own chair, knowing this whole thing is to just bump up our numbers over every other news article out there. We will be the only ones with certain stories; why? Because they are all lies. However, it doesn't mean I'm happy with it. What if they find out? It's a small chance but never impossible. All it needs is for one of the members to stumble across our page.
They may be the biggest gang, but we are the biggest news reporters and reporters in New York. Everyone knows us. My life would literally be at risk and getting more each time a new article gets released.
"I expect a story by the end of the week, Miss Smith,"
"But that's three days," I said, completely shocked. "How am I meant to do that?" We don't know anything about their whereabouts or where they hang out. We don't even fully know what they look like. "Never mind," I said, seeing the look he was giving me.
'Figure it out yourself.'
I stood up, as no other words left his lips before turning and leaving, holding a folder close to my chest of a few minor pieces of information.
The lift took me down to the ground floor before my feet took me out of the building towards my car. A small beep and click were heard as I unlocked the door and slid through the small gap, locking the door behind me. What have I got myself into?
The engine revved to life before I backed out of the spot, starting the journey home, driving past everyone going on with their normal lives.
I knew this was a big opportunity for the brand and for me, reporting on a big gang and their stories. However, I didn't know my life was going to change the way it was due to.
