I stared down at the small group as I circled their base on Toruk, noticing that there was a new one who I hadn't seen yet in the last few months that I've been watching them. I knew that they weren't a threat like Quaritch and his goons had been, Max had reassured me of that much when he transferred the ex-trainees up to the base in the mountains.
I watched as majority of the group went back to what they had been doing and paying me no attention, though the new one was watching Toruk closely, her tail lashing curiously behind her. I circled a few more times then flew off into the forest again, rejoining my hunting group on their way back to the Tree of Souls.

A few nights later I was out flying Bob on my own, doing some perimeter watching around the Tree of Souls while most of the others slept or ate dinner, a few other warriors helping me keep watch. I saw a light flickering off in the distance on the forest floor and quietly landed Bob not too far away from it, sneaking towards it and climbing into one of the tall trees around the clearing it was in to watch the scene that was unfolding.
One of the avatars from the base, the one I hadn't seen outside before, was wrestling a prrnen palulukan (baby thanator) on the ground. It tried to snap at her neck but she dodged and shoved it's skull against a large rock in the ground until there was a loud crack sound. She pulls out her knife from her belt and holds down the barely-thrashing palulukan, swiftly stabbing it right in the heart to give it a quick death. It's difficult to fully hear what she's saying, but I manage to piece it together as she murmurs to the deceased animal quietly, "Oel ngati kameie, ma tsmuke, ulte ngaru seiyi irayo. (I see you, Sister, and thank you.)" Watching as she removes the knife and gently pets down the side of the animal's body, I remain there with her for what must've been at least an hour before she stands up and sheaths her knife before beginning to walk into the forest, wandering towards the Tree of Souls.
I quickly hop down from the tree and hurry to follow the girl before the other hunters find her, but just as I catch up to her I hear a loud yelp and a thud, and when I emerge from behind some large leaves I see none other than Tsu'tey pinning the girl to a tree, her face and front smushed against it with his knife aimed at her mid-back and him holding her in place by her braid, which is tightly wound around his fist. "Tsu'tey! Fpivìl kä! (Let go!)" I yell as I run forward and tackle him, forcing him to drop the knife but he doesn't let go of her braid in time, dragging her down with us. I throw him off of us and stand back up before he can, picking up his knife off the ground and aiming it towards him as I position myself between him and the girl, once again yelling at him, "Po lu kxuke! (She is safe!)"
"Po lu vrrtep nga skxawng! (She is demon you moron!)" Tsu'tey shouts back at me, standing and slowly stalking back and forth in front of us, his distrusting eyes focused on her. "Tsamsiyu! Kxuke! (Warrior! Safe!)" I suddenly heard from behind me, both Tsu'tey and I stopping in our tracks and turning to look at the girl. "You understand?" he asks, and she nods in response, "Le'aw hì'i. (Only little.)" We just watch her carefully for a few moments until she starts slowly backing away before turning and running as fast as she can away from us, no longer towards the Tree of Souls but now towards a cliff not too far away. I hold up a hand to stop Tsu'tey and run after her, quickly gaining speed and catching up to her though I'm barely able to grab her around the waist before she vaults herself off the cliff, though luckily I secure my grip fast enough and quickly pull her back from the edge.
Smirking slightly at the shocked look on her face and finally taking note of her overall size, I just lean down slightly and nearly whisper directly in her ear, "Nari si, yawntutsyìp. (Be careful, darling.)"
