Chapter 15 - Mated Beneath the Stars (⚠️)

Jake lead me up high into the sky, the two of us occasionally racing each other for short amounts of time as we made our way to the place he wanted to show me. After what felt like a short eternity of flying Jake finally pointed downwards towards the ground and I gasped when I saw what he was pointing at; there was a huge natural hot springs built into the space where a cliff met the top of another cliff, providing a large enough space for the pool of water with plenty of dense trees surrounding it to give more of a sense of privacy. But what really amazed me as we landed was how the bottom of the hot springs pool was glowing. As we landed our ikran and let them go find some trees to perch on nearby Jake explained to me that over thousands of years the water had worn down the rock at the bottom of the pool until it eventually met a large solidified mass of dead glow worms that the water was unable to wear away at. He had no clue how they were there in the first place, puzzling aloud as I walked over to the edge of the water, his eyes still taking in the scenery around us.

"I mean, I guess it could've been some type of ancient Pandoran version of an ice age, but that wouldn't explain why the glow worms make the water hot and how they haven't melted—" Jake went on and on until his eyes finally landed on me and the words died in his throat as he watched me slowly strip off my chest beads, delicately placing them on the flat rock surface surrounding the edge of the pool, my back facing him while I also remove my tewng and waist beads, carefully laying both with the chest beads. His eyes followed my tail as it swished around slowly behind me as I walked into the water, my hands behind me undoing the braid in my hair as I went. I waded deeper into the water until I was in up to my waist, then turned to look at Jake and giggled quietly at the look on his face; his pupils were dilated wide and his tail was flicking around wildly behind him, his ears pinned back against his head, my cheeks warming slightly when I took notice of the growing tent in his loincloth. With a soft smile I motioned for him to come join me, watching as he hastily removed his own tewng and tossed it to land near my clothing before he sped into the water and over to me, gently wrapping his arms around my waist and lifting me up, letting out a loud purr of approval as my legs immediately wrapped around his waist, arms going up to wrap around his shoulders.
