Family Gathering
Chapter 27!
Octobrr 1997 - Above The Atlantic Ocean
A month soon passed, the day of the dead was nearly upon the world. Albany and her Brothers were returning to Italy to be with their Father for the unholy celebration, it had been over four years since they had spent All Hallows' Eve together. Primo was travelling separately from his siblings, he wanted a peaceful flight. Albany was travelling with Secondo and Terzo, she had the pleasure of sitting with Secondo for the fifteen hour flight to Italy. She had played rock, paper, scissors with Terzo before the flight. She had lost the game. She had tried to play best out three, but her Brother refused to participate. But he wouldn't be sitting far away from him, he had a seat compartment all to himself. Secondo wanted the aisle seat, his wandering eye for the air hostesses had already gotten him into trouble with Terzo. He couldn't help himself, he was is Father's Son after all.
Resting her chin on her hand Albany gazed out of the porthole, she had gotten the window seat. She preferred it this way, the last time she had the aisle seat the refreshment trolley had knocked her elbow countless times when it passed her seat. She was relieved when Secondo wanted the aisle seat, but three hours into the flight his behaviour had gotten worse. The trolley had already passed three times, her Brother had ordered three neat whiskeys and a tube of Pringles so far. He was pacing himself, but he had already had four vodka shots before they boarded the aeroplane. Taking a book from her handbag she got comfortable in her seat and opened it up, but her Brother's voice caught her attention. He was ordering another whiskey from the trolley, the attractive dark haired hostess he had taken a shine to was servicing the drinks again. He had been flirting the air hostess for most of the flight, she had immediately caught his attention the minute they had boarded the aeroplane. He thanked the woman and watched her walking away, he soon noticed his sibling watching him.
" Did you want something from the trolley?" He asked.
" No, I'm good." She replied.
" Then why are you giving me that look?" He asked.
" What look?" She asked.
" The look of disapproval." He replied, he leaned closer towards her. " Papa gives me that look too, he never approves of my behaviour. He was no better at my age, the drinking and smoking. Partying until dawn, the nanny banging and getting women pregnant. I just want to drink and be merry, join the party Sister!"
" No thank you..." She said, her gaze met with his own. " I still remember what happened last time. I'm planning never to do overtime again unless it's for extra cash in my pay check. Besides, I think you've had enough to drink already."
" Nonsense, I'm just getting warmed up!" He said.
" Why don't you take a nap, the flight will pass by quickly that way." She said.
" But I will miss out on all the fun..." He said.
" This isn't a party flight, Brother." She said while she closed her book. " I think those faded out in the seventies, maybe the eighties. They don't exist anymore."
" And what do you know about party flights?" He asked.
" Papa told me about them, his bedtime stories weren't exactly child friendly." She said with a slight smile. " They had piano bars, cocktail lounges and restaurants. The mile high club. I don't think he should have told me about that club, I was six at the time. I thought it was a travel club, how wrong was I..."
" The mile high club? What an excellent idea!" He said before he necked his drink back. " Will you excuse me, Sister. I need to use the restroom."
" Wait, Secondo! No..." She said.
