I'll Wait For You
Chapter 38!
March 1998- The Los Angeles Ministry
Albany packed the last of her belongings into her suitcase, her flight wouldn't be leaving for another seven hours yet. Her passport was in her handbag, she had to pick up her boarding pass from the airport when she arrived there. Secondo had volunteered to drive her to the Los Angeles International Airport, he had party plans this evening in a local nightclub. She needed to visit the Clergy infirmary for a scheduled checkup appointment, but it wasn't until 3pm. The medical personnel had advised her to delay her trip for another week or two, she still having hip pain issues. Terzo had offered to change her flight dates, but she wanted to get it over and done with since the flight had already been arranged.
Placing her wash bag into her suitcase Albany closed it's lid, she had already double checked that she had packed everything she would need for her trip to Italy. Fiddling with one of the suitcase's locks she tried to squeeze it's sides, but she could fasten it properly. A frustrated groan escaped her lips, she squeezed it harder this time which caused a sharp shooting pain through her sprained wrist. She immediately brought her wrist to her chest, she winced and stomped her foot. Her injury was still giving her issues, she had been told more than once to wear her arm sling throughout the day. But she hated the sling, she kept getting her hair tangled it.
" Stupid wrist..." She grumbled.
A knock at the door soon caught her attention, she told them to enter. Looking over her shoulder she was greeted by a familiar face, it was Copia. He waved his fingers at her before he closed the door behind him, but a look of concern soon graced his features when he saw his lover holding her sprained wrist against her chest. He approached Albany and gently touched her back, his gaze was firmly set upon his lover.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
" I'm fine, it's just my sprained wrist..." She replied, she motioned towards her suitcase. " I can't lock my suitcase, I hate this!"
" I can do that for you, it's okay." He said.
" Thank you." She said.
" You know you need to start wearing your arm sling again." He said, his speaking tone was serious. " Your wrist will not heal if you keep putting strain on it, I know it's hard. But you have a severe sprain, it will not get better if you don't rest it."
" You're beginning to sound like one of the medical personnel from the infirmary." She said.
" Oh? In that case would you like a medical examination?" He asked.
" Please don't tempt me!" She replied with a smile. " I've still got many things to do before I leave, but I could squeeze you in at 12pm if you're free."
" It's a date." He smiled.
Copia kissed his lover's temple, he lingered by her side for a moment before he locked the suitcase for her. He then moved the suitcase from the bed and placed it near the armchair. Albany went make them some coffee, she didn't have a kitchen in her room like her Brother. But she had been gifted a coffee machine after her accident, she was beginning to wonder if the Clergy had brought her silence. She hadn't spoken to anyone about the attack, she had stuck to the cover story they had invented when she was admitted to the hospital. Placing a coffee cup beneath the nozzle she pressed a button on the coffee machine, the dark liquid began to pour into the cup.
Copia soon got her attention when she heard a clanking sound, he had accidentally knocked one of her perfume bottles over on her cabinet. His fingers fumbling around he managed to return it to it's rightful place, he immediately stepped away from the cabinet and told the perfume bottle to stay. A soft laugh escaped Albany's lips, she found his cute little ways charming. She returned her attention back to the coffee machine and got a fresh pod from a basket, the hot beverage was still pouring. She soon swapped over the cups and repeated the coffee making process, the scent of freshly made coffee lingered in the air. Turning around she jumped when she noticed Copia standing closely behind her, his bad habit of sneaking up on people was still ongoing. His gaze was upon her, his fingers coming together he broke the silence between them.
