Giving a Second Chance (Reader/Ghost X Adult Female Chara)

Chapter 3: Taking Things A Bit Farther

"Oh hey Chara. I didn't expect you'd be here so early."

"I didn't expect to see you too! What's going on with you? "

"Nothing really, it's just the snow that's been falling all night. It's been really pretty, huh?"

"Yeah it sure has, haven't seen any yet, haha."

Now that Chara was here, maybe I could ask her to come to my house. Maybe we could chat or, even watch a movie. I was a little nervous, but I just wanted to give it a shot. 

"Chara, I was wondering if you would maybe want to do something later today. Would you want to come over and watch a film with me?"

Chara blushed a little, and looked away.

"I dunno, but yeah, I wouldn't mind getting inside for a bit. Its cold out here."

She followed me back to my home, and after closing the door behind us, she turned and faced me.

"So, uh, what do you want to do? I'm willing to anything."

Then Chara shot me a look, a look, and almost childish glee.

"Anything, you say?"

I got a little bit more nervous.

"Y-Yeah... whatever... um... crosses your mind."

"Hmm, maybe..."

Chara walked over to me, and put her hands on my shoulders.

"Maybe... I'll show you what crossed my mind."

After a few seconds, Chara closed her eyes, and I couldn't help feeling nervous. Was she trying to flirt with me?  Was she about to kiss me? Did she actually want to? I don't know, it's not like I had much experience with girls either.

All of a sudden, Chara pulled me close and began to kiss me.

She kissed me gently, then passionately. I felt myself start to panic. Then a odd feeling of bliss, and all my worry just seem to melt away. Her lips were just so soft, and had the faint taste of chocolate and cinnamon mixed with butterscotch.  She put her arms around me and hugged me closer. This made me relax. Everything about her seemed perfect. She smelled good, she tasted amazing. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pushed myself further against her. I could feel her smile against my mouth, which just made everything better. Soon enough though, Chara stopped kissing me.

"I-I... didn't expect that..."

Chara giggled, "Of course not! It's just... I'm kinda turned on right now..."

A blush spread across my face as I looked away from Chara, and just be looking at her, she was gorgeous. She was voluptuous, with long, flowing, chocolate brown hair, with her trademark green and yellow single-striped sweater, and thigh-highs. It had me for a loop, and honestly, I couldn't get enough.  I felt a burning sensation growing inside me, and my soul felt warm.

"Damn it, why am I always so awkward?"

After a moment, Chara pulled away, and took my hands in hers, giving them a gentle squeeze.

"So... you're okay with all of this?" I asked.

"I am. You know, I can really see your soft side, Ghost. You seem like a great person."

I took her compliment to heart. I was really happy for someone to at least see I wasn't so cold, even for a grizzled 30 year old military vet.

"T-Thank you... Thank you so much, Chara."

Chara looked up at me and gave me a big grin.

"Don't mention it."

After that, we both sat down, and began watching a movie. It was nice to catch up with one another. The two of us talked about how our lives used to be. She then noticed on the wall my shadow box. I had all my medals from the Army, and especially my Medal of Honor.

"Wow... I didn't know your a really a war hero."

"Yeah... those were some dark days."

"What do mean Ghost?"

"I come from a universe where the United States was plunged into a resource war with China. I was a Texas boy who enlisted in Boston. I got through boot camp, then deployed not to the front, but to a riot. We were given orders to stop any and all trespassers with leathal force. I tried to refuse, but I couldn't, and I shot innocent people, all because I was following my orders, like most of the people there. Then once I got the front, I saw horrible things no person would want to. Blown limbs, people getting turned to fine red mist, getting riddled with bullets, or electrocuted. it was awful Chara, it really was."

I took a deep breath, and looked down at the floor. The memories brought back a flood of feelings, emotions, all mixing together to form a massive mess in my head.

"It was terrible, but we won, eventually. But the price? Total nuclear annihilation. Many of us were herded into vaults, where I was frozen, and then awakened from cyro-statis. I wandered a wasteland, joining factions, until an experiment went wrong and I ended up here."

Chara looked down and shook her head. She thought about what she was going to say next.

"But, Ghost, that isn't your fault. If you hadn't done anything, none of it would have happened. Besides, I think... there is a lot more to you than you let on."
I laughed quietly.

"Is that right? And what would that be?"

"Well, you aren't all cold and distant. There's a lot more to you than you show, and you seem like you are actually trying to make up for what you did to these people. I think its okay, to be human. So many people are afraid, and they keep doing stupid things. I mean, you don't need to be perfect for anyone. Just, maybe try and live a little more happily."

Chara stood up and patted me on the shoulder.

"You tried to make it up to yourself, and even though my genocide runs, and the constant fighting, you at least deserve happiness. And... I just wanted to say... I'm sorry. I'm sorry I did all of that to you. All of the killing, all of the resets, all of the fighting and discomfort I gave you. I hope now, we can live a better life, together."

I smiled.

"Thanks, Chara. You helped a lot."

"And if you ever need anything, just come find me, okay Ghost? I've been here for awhile now, but I still have plenty of spare time, and I'd love to hang out again sometime again."

She then went home, we had been with each other for 8 hours, and it was now 6:00. So I prepared myself dinner, read some books, and went to sleep that night, still feeling rather happy after our first kiss.
