A Couple of Days Later...

Chara was back home, while I just was working on some paperwork for my brother's other gig being a Chernobyl Stalker. In that, I had my own bit of love-sickness. After what happened a couple days of go, I couldn't get my mind off her. I would be working around the house, but then when I wasn't, I was constantly fantasizing about her. When she was awake, we spent time talking or watching anime. But when she fell asleep on me like that, I felt all warm inside. When she was gone, it was like a piece of me was constantly missing. It seemed like I could feel her heartbeat through my chest. I loved how her arms felt when she wrapped them around me, and how she always smelled like fresh flowers.

I couldn't stand it, so I got up from my desk, grabbed my coat, and left for Grillby's again. I walked down the snow-covered trail, and walked into the pub. It wasn't as busy as it would be later, so their was empty seats at the bar. I sat down, and asked Grillby for a glass of whiskey, and a shot of vodka. He brought it to me, rather quickly.

So, I downed the shot, and just sat there, thinking about Chara. I was just thinking back to our first time I saw her.

Chara was a shy, nervous girl, and she didn't really know what to say. We just talked for a while, and got to know one another for a couple minutes. That was all I remembered from our first meeting. But, she was always sweet, so kind, and friendly. I liked how she made me feel comfortable, and even now, every time I thought back to the first day I met her, it made me smile because of how nice she was to me.

I took a sip of my drink, and looked over to Grillby, who was still wiping down the bar.

"You look down."

I was a little bit surprised to hear Grillby speak. I thought he was mute, but I guess he occasionally speaks.

"Yeah man. I've got my girl on my mind."

Grillby got closer to hear, even though made of fire, he leaned his arm on the bar.

"Guessing she's close."

I nodded.

"Yeah, not too close, but pretty damn near. Why you think I came here today? Been stuck in my room trying to figure out how I should take her to the next level."

"Hm. I've see you and her in here frequently. Same stuff your saying."

"What do you mean?"

"She's been here a couple times recently. Talking the same thing your saying."

"Really?"

He nodded.

"Huh... thanks. I didn't expect you to talk to me about this."

He just nodded again. He was always kinda quiet. But I guess that's just the life a bartend.

I finished off the rest of my whiskey and even though I wanted to pay tab, Grillby shook his head, and I thanked him.

I went outside of the pub, and leaned up against the wall, and grabbed a cigar from my pocket. It was lightly snowing outside, but even in that, my lighter still worked, and I lit a smoke. I held the cigar between my lips, and took in a deep breath. I closed my eyes, and just let myself relax, then, puffing out.

I opened my eyes, and saw something in the corner of my eye. Someone in a coat, and looked vaguely like Chara. Getting a closer look, it was indeed her.
I'm guessing she saw me, and ran over.

"Hey! You're here!"

I smiled and waved.

"Good evening, Chara. How have you been?"

She came up to me, a happy smile on her face.

"Hey! I didn't expect you here. Did you get a drink or something?"

"Yeah. You know... I've kinda been in the same boat as you."

She cocked her head at me, "Uh... what do you mean?"

"I've... just been lovesick. Like you."

"Huh. I..." She paused, then giggled, "You serious? I haven't been out that long."

"Well... it's just we're so close. We went from enemies, to friends, to lovers. And honestly, it feel like something is missing in my soul when I don't see you."

She looked at me, and the smiled, her cheeks turned bright red.

"Yeah... I know the feeling. I... I love... being with you. Just... I can't help but feel incomplete without you."

"I guess... you can say we're more than just lovers.
We're soulmates. We were meant for each other."

"That's... sweet." She blushed even further, and looked away.

"Hey... why are you blushing? Are you embarrassed?"

"What? No... it's just... I didn't think you'd see it that way."

"Why would you? This isn't some romantic comedy or something. But you're Chara. You're perfect, and beautiful, and sexy as hell. You deserve to be treated like that by me. It was the way I was raised. And you deserve better."

"You really think that?" She looked back at me, her cheeks flushed.

"I really do. We're just alike in every way. We need each other. You and I have been through the same experiences, and the same hardships. And well..." I paused, trying to think of what to say.

"Well... we deserve a happy ending, right? One where... you and are are more."

"Yeah. I suppose we do. I... I want us to be more than that too."

We both laughed, our cheeks turning bright red.

"So... what does this 'more' look like?"

I chucked, "Well, I can't spoil the surprise just yet."

I pulled her closer, kissing her tenderly.

"I don't want to wait much longer, you know." She responded.

"I know. Come on, let's head over to my place."

"Actually, Ghost... why don't you come to mine? Frisk and Asriel are off doing their own thing, so it will just be me and you."

I grinned, "Sure. I'd love to spend more time with you."

"Well, follow me."

So, I followed Chara to the house in the Ruins.
