Ghost's POV
The weekend finally came, and I was sitting on my couch when there was a knock on the door. I expected it and immediately answered the door. And greeting me was Chara. I didn't expect her to immediately hug me when I opened the door for her. It caught me off-guard, but I could feel her happiness in this embrace. It was like the hug she gave me when we first met when she told me how she felt about me. I hugged her back.
"Hey Chara... I didn't expect you to be so happy to see me."
"Well... I've been a good mood recently."
"I can tell. You've been smiling a lot more than usual."
She smiled at that and kissed me. It wasn't the normal peck or kiss on the lips. This was something different. It was deep, sensual, and passionate. I could feel her warmth, and how much she wanted me. I felt the heat rise up in me. It was just so... enticing. My heart was pounding against my chest.
"Heh... come on in, Chara."
She smiled and went in. I closed the door behind me and followed her to the couch. We both sat down. She looked me in the eyes.
"Ghost, can I ask you something?"
"What is it, hun?"
"Well, I was thinking since I last asked... You will still be mine? I want us to be together forever."
"Of course!"
Chara giggled, "Thanks Ghost..."
I was wondering why Chara seemed so animated today. She would be a little shy, sometimes timid to ask something like that.
"Hey, you seem pretty animated today, Chara. What's up?"
"Well, I feel a lot better than I have been. I still have a little insecurities about my body and myself. But Sans was able to help me."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah. He and I had a long talk about things, and I've just been feeling much better lately. Especially with you, Ghost."
"Heh, I'm glad to hear that. Sans has always been a great friend. I'm glad he was able to help you."
"Yeah... Sans really has a heart of gold."
I smiled, "Yeah he does."
We both sat there in silence for a moment, just looking into each other's eyes. It was a comfortable silence. I don't know why, it just felt awkward to say something. I knew what I wanted to ask her, but I wanted to keep my tongue bit and wait for the perfect time. It was late in the afternoon, so maybe I could ease the tension by maybe going on a walk with her. I just had to wait for the right time. I couldn't just come out and say it. It would ruin the mood if I did.
"Well, should we go out for a walk and maybe go out to eat somewhere?"
"Uh... sure! I'm fine with that."
"Alright then. Let's go!"
And off we went. I decided to take a stop at Grillby's, maybe get a drink and something to eat. And just as we were walking there, Chara began to speak.
"So Ghost, what's it like being a Veteran?"
I shrugged, "Well, I'm not super proud of it if I'm honest. I was just doing my job and it's just my reward for my service."
She smiled, "You must be happy to have won that medal of honor."
"I am. I just don't express or brag about it."
"Oh, well, that makes sense."
I smirked a little bit. Chara was smiling at me, but there was something else in her eyes. It was a very familiar feeling to me. I remembered feeling that way when I first met Chara. I always knew she had a crush on me. I just never expected her to be this flirty. She was cute, and she knew it. But I think I like the attention she was giving me. I was happy that she wanted to be with me. And I loved how she was so different compared to when we first met. Back then, she seemed so timid. But I'm just glad she's in better spirits.
We decided to grab a quick bite at Grillby's. I only got a burger and some fries and Chara got herself a burger as well. We kept walking, talking, and maybe sharing a fry here and there.
"Well, what's it like being an older brother, Ghost?"
"Oh... it's great. It's a really great feeling."
"What makes it so great?"
I smirked, "Well, I'm the best brother anyone could ever want. My other brothers can do no wrong."
Chara giggled, "Oh please... you're just trying to make me feel good."
I smiled and shook my head.
"Nah, my brothers are really close. Of course, Josef is my middle brother and he's doing well for himself as the Premier of the Soviet Union, and my youngest brothers works with Ink Sans, since he's pretty artsy."
She laughed a little, but then looked at me with a little concern in her eyes.
"Hey... if you don't mind me asking, do you have any trauma of your own?"
I was a little nervous telling her the truth about myself. I wanted to wait. Maybe it was best I saved it for later.
"Yeah... I had my fair share of scars."
"I see..."
I sighed softly and gave her a smile.
"Don't worry, Chara... I can tell you more later."
She only nodded. We were just walking through Waterfall, and still talking. By the time we stopped, we were finally at the hill. I sat on the ground, and she sat next to me. I smiled at her and she looked at me with a gentle smile. We just stared at the water for a few minutes before she spoke.
"Do you remember our first date?"
"Oh, of course I do. It was like yesterday."
"It was so much fun, and so much drama. I didn't expect that. But it was still fun."
"Well, I enjoyed myself."
"I did too."
Chara rested her head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arm around her and held her close. I didn't even know what to say. I felt so much for her. I just wanted her to be happy. I wanted to make her happy. I felt like this was finally the time to surprise her.
"Chara?"
"Hm?"
I took a deep breath and began to speak.
"I love you. And I've loved you since the day I first met you."
Her eyes widened, but she kept a calm look on her face.
"I know you have always wanted to be with me forever, right?"
"Always."
"Well... I have just one question for you then."
I got down on my knees, and took a deep breath.
"Chara... would you marry me?"
I could see a smile on her face just get wider and wider.
"Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!"
She threw her arms around me and hugged me. She kissed me hard and passionately on the lips. It was something I didn't expect but I didn't mind. I felt a little dizzy as she held me in her arms, but I could feel the love she held for me. I kissed her back. I felt like I was going to faint. But then I just realized what I just asked.
I smiled nervously, "Well, what do you say, Chara?"
She smiled, "I'm so happy! Of course I'll marry you! I want to be with you forever!"
I was so happy. I felt so relieved. I felt the heat rising up in my cheeks, and the happiness filling up in my chest. It was the best moment of my life. She kissed me, and I kissed her back. I held her tight in my arms. I was happy that she wanted to be with me forever. I could hear her crying, and I knew she was happy.
"I love you, Chara. And I always have. You mean everything to me."
She held me in her arms, and I could hear her voice.
"I love you too... Ghosty."
