Chapter 19: A Second Date and A Long Confession

So, grabbing my coat, I walked out of the house, and waited by Grillby's.

Finally, she showed up, in the same outfit as usual. Green, tube-top sweater with a single yellow stripe, brown shorts, and thigh-highs with boots. She still looked pretty as usual. She gave a soft smile, as she walked up to me.

"Hey Ghost. Are you ready?"

"Of course. Although I didn't expect you already wanted a second date."

"You know that It had to eventually happen." she said, with a giggle.

We walked to Grillby's, and she grabbed a table. We sat down across from each other, and ordered our food. Chara started off the conversation, looking at me with a mischievous grin.

"So... did you really not expect me to want to do this when I asked?"

I blushed, and I looked away. "Well... yeah... but only because we've done it before, so..."

Chara laughed. "Oh come on, now you don't have to be shy with me! Aren't you supposed to be confident?" she teased, with a teasing smile.

I just grinned, and leaned into her. "It's different when I'm around you. I don't have to be so... uptight."

She giggled at that, and leaned in closer to me. "You're cute when you blush!" she said softly, with a giggle.

I blushed even more deeply. "Cute? You're the cutest."

"Yeah right," she said, teasingly.

"I mean it. You're genuinely cute looking."

"You don't need to butter me up." she said, smiling.

Grillby then dropped by, and gave us our food. He just gave us a silent nod, and walked back to the bar. I glanced over at Chara, who was eating some of her fries. She saw me watching her, and she smirked, taking another fry.

"Hey, Ghost, you still seem a bit uptight, you okay?" she asked.

I paused, and I looked away. "No... yeah, sorry, I'm fine, it's just been awhile since we last did this... I didn't expect the short notice."

"Oh come on, don't be so hard on yourself. You're a sweet guy, you shouldn't have to feel bad about it." she said, reaching out to me. I felt a warmth in my chest at that gesture.

I took her hand in mine, and kissed her knuckles. "Thank you."

"Don't mention it." she said, smiling, and we continued to eat. There was a lot of silence between us for the next several minutes, with neither of us talking much. Then, we decided to ask for a couple of drinks. Things started to loosen up. We started laughing at each other's jokes, and we started flirting again.

It wasn't long before I was kissing her, and she reciprocated. As we kissed, I could feel myself start to get more and more aroused. When I finally pulled away for air, her cheeks were flushed, and she had this dreamy smile on her face.

She chuckled. As we decided to leave the pub for the night, we decided to take a stroll into Waterfall. We weren't completely wasted, but we were drunk enough. We walked passed the weeds, and then into more calm waters. We then got to Chara's favorite spot in Waterfall, a hill the overlooked New Home. She sat down, and I sat next to her.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" she replied.

She then wrapped her arms around me, drawing me close. She put her head on my shoulder, and sighed happily. She smelled great, and I could feel my blood starting to heat up.

She giggled at that, and I blushed.

"Aww... you look so cute when you blush Ghost." she cooed in my ear.
