Chapter 4: Getting to Confess

A couple weeks flew by, and I had to attend some meetings with my brother in Moscow. He's the Premier of the Soviet Union in a different far-flung timeline. So after taking a couple of shortcuts, and a little bit of teleportation, I made it to talk with my brother.

I walking into his almost grandiose office in the Kremlin, and he stood up to greet me.

"Brother! How are you!"

"I'm doing well, you?"

"Eh, the work here is boring the hell out of me."

"Hm, I'm sure you can handle it, you're quite smart after all."

"Heh, thank you brother."

We started sitting down at his desk, I was still pretty tired, so I sat myself down and leaned back in my chair. After a while he asked for a bottle of the best scotch, and two glasses.

"So, anything new in your world? I keep hearing rumors of a girlfriend you have."

"Oh haha, yes! Chara Dreemurr is my girlfriend. She's an awesome person; we spent so much time together, I wouldn't even know what I'd do without her by my side!"

My brother chuckled at my words.

"At least now you have someone to tell you all those stories you have, well, other than me!"

"I'm guessing you have some news for me?"

He nodded his head, and poured a generous portion of his scotch into both our glasses. I held out my hand, and waited for him to pour my glass full. After we both took a sip of it, my brother cleared his throat.

"Right now, we're having some trouble over in Ukraine. They are currently having a border dispute with Belarus. Our country is currently in the midst of a economic dispute with Belarus and NATO is concerned that we may go to war with them."

"What's happening?"

"Some countries are being aggressive towards others, and the other nations are getting nervous. I mean, global political shenanigans, amirite?"

"Yeah, better to lighten the mood by talking about my girlfriend, eh?"

My brother smiled and raised his glass to mine before chugging it down.

"So... how is that girl coming along?"

"She's been great, very patient when it comes to my problems. She helps me through everything, so... yeah. I love her so much, bro."

He looked at me with a knowing smile on his face.

"And... what about the relationship? Have you had a first kiss or went on a date?"

My brother seemed to get more excited as he said that.

"Ah, I did have a first kiss. I swear, she came close to making out that day."

"That sounds wonderful, brother."

As I was talking with my brother, I got a text on my phone. It was from Chara, asking about hanging out with her again, but this time at her home in the Ruins. My brother came to glance over and see if could maybe give me some dating advice.

"Hey Brother. That's Chara. She wants to hang out again today, and wants to meet up later tonight."

"Hm... Maybe you could suggest going on a date with her. Text her that."

After reading her message, I replied back and told her to come over around 7 o'clock tonight, and she replied back, and agreed. Once I was done responding, my brother looked at me, smiling.
