Authors Note
Im going to say this now, this chapter gets DEEP. Like really deep. And there's some extremely uncomfortable topics mentioned in this chapter.
Reader discretion is HIGHLY advised.
--------------------------Ghost's POV:
We were comfortable together on the couch, Just snuggling quietly with each other, when Chara tapped me on the shoulder.
"Hey, Ghost?"
"Yeah, what's up?"
"Since we have some time, do you want to come with me to Waterfall?"
"Sure, what for?"
Chara got up from the chair, and waved me over. I was wondering why she wanted to come with her to Waterfall, but, it seemed like she had something to show me. So, I got my coat on, and walked with her to Waterfall. As we kept walking, she turned to me to talk.
"So... There's something I wanted to show you."
"What is it?"
"It's a nice overlook near the capital. It faces the river that flows through Snowdin and Waterfall. I think you'll enjoy it."
I just shrugged. I didn't exactly know why Chara wanted to go on a walk like this right now, maybe she had something to surprise me with. As we kept walking, Chara took a quick stop in near much calmer waters. So, while we waited, I thought to clear the silence, and talk with Chara again.
"So... is that spot special to you?"
"It is. Me and Asriel would go there all the time. Usually we looked at the stars, maybe talk about life, or even play together up there. I think of it as my rest spot."
We kept walking until we got there. It was exactly what Chara described. A hill top, with a stunning view of a flowing river, with the capital in the distance. It was full of stars, but It wasn't too dark, almost like a full moon out. Soon, Chara took me by the hand, and took us up the hill. The two of us got sat down, and Chara already looked like she was zoning out.
"Isn't the view nice, Ghost?"
"Hah! Yeah, it is. That's why you brought me here, huh?"
Chara giggled a little before looking up at me.
"No, actually. I've always wanted to do this with you."
I raised an eyebrow at her. What the heck is going on? Is she... flirting with me? I don't know what to think of this. She never acted that way towards anyone else, not even her parents or her siblings.
"I guess it's just different now. I mean, we aren't fighting anymore, and I can see you more often than you think, which means you get to spend more time with me."
"Yeah, I guess so. It's certainly been fun though," I said smiling warmly at her. "Is it just our first time doing this? It seems like everything has changed."
"Not necessarily. Everything has its own rhythm, so it's alright if you're still feeling nervous about this. I'm happy though, because I love spending time with you."
She smiled at me, and I returned the gesture. I was glad that she was happy, and I hoped that things would continue to change between us.
"You know, I've been meaning to give you something."
"Oh? You have?"
She dug around her pocket, and soon, she pulled out something shiny and gold. That's when I noticed it was a heart locket. It was the same one she wore all the time.
