Geek To Grease

Chapter 1

               My pov:

It was a warm sunny afternoon and all of the members except two of them were in the band room. While we were warming up to play, Mr.Baker announced that we were gonna compete at a band competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I personally was ecstatic about this. I've never been outside of my home state before. The band and I have also never competed out of state, so this would be very interesting for us. My best friends, Sarah, Trinity, Madelyn, and Olivia were also ecstatic to see what mischief they could get into. Trinity was the most excited, because she wanted to see if there were any cute boys. Typical.

It was finally the day of the competition and as we were loading everything onto the band trailer Mr.Baker asks,

"Are you all ok with going out of state for just a tiny competition?"

When we all said yes he nodded and started loading the trailer again.

We finally finished loading the trailer with all of the instruments, so we headed to get our bags,  and then we walked to the bus,  well ran because we were so excited about this trip.

Mr.Baker gave us a couple of rules to follow while on the trip,

1- Don't buy anything that you will hurt yourself with.

2- Don't buy anything that will make you sick when you eat it.

3- Don't run off with out at least 3 people in a group or better yet don't run off at all

We just groaned. "I can't believe he doesn't trust us enough to leave his side for one second.......such a helicopter mom." Mumbles Trinity.

"I know right." I reply quietly.

"Oh you heard that, oops!" Trinity says laughing.

Olivia, Trinity, and I fell asleep during the ride until we were halfway there, when all of the sudden we came to a holt. We were stuck on the side of the road halfway to the school and we were supposed to be there in one hour.

This is just great.

"Abbie are you ok? Your really pale. You look like you just saw a ghost." Says Olivia.

"Yea totally fine were just stuck on the side of the road halfway no big deal." I say sarcastically

"OK." She replies walking to Sarah.

I love Olivia but sometimes I just want to rip that darn ring out of her nose and stick it in her ear. She doesn't get sarcasm at all.

Mr.Baker tells Trinity, Olivia, Madelyn, Sarah, and me to walk and try and find a car place, so we start walking and we end up at a place right outside of Tulsa. We had been walking for about an hour and our legs ached so Olivia, Trinity, and I sat on the sidewalk while the others walked to the carshop.

"DX, very interesting." Sarah says walking in.

"Welcome to the DX where we can fix your car and feed you too."  Says a guy with movie star looks.

From outside I couldn't hear much but I guess he was talking loud when he said this.

"Ya'll this is Sodapop he will be driving us back to the bus and helping out with it, oh and this is Steve he will be helping Sodapop." Says Sarah.

"Call me Soda and let's get going we don't want your group to be waiting any longer on help." Replies Soda.

We finally get back to the bus with the group standing there looking unamused by the situation.

"Sorry it took so long Mr.Baker we walked for an hour until we found these guys and their shop." I say.

"It's ok Abbie, thank you so much for helping you two, we already missed our time for the competition but they said they would give us a little more time to get there so let's go, thanks again guys. Baker says talking back and forth with the guys and us.

"No problem." Says Steve.

The band trailer that had our stuff in it was attached to a truck, so Madelyn, Sarah, Trinity, Olivia, and me all squeeze into the truck, while the others get in the trailer or in the back of the truck, which was illegal on a highway I might add but whatever.

We finally got to the school where we were preforming and they said if we don't go now we won't have another chance, so we didn't even get to warm up before they threw us out there, but we played our best.

Once we got finished we left the gym we were in and Mr.Bakers phone started ringing he picked it up and answered. "Hello...yes...oh..are you sure......ok I'll tell them, thank you for the help anyway."

"Is everything ok Mr. Baker?" Asked Sarah.

"Yes it's just the guys who were working on the bus said that they couldn't fix it, so we will have to stay here until we find someone or something to take us home,  and I don't think you guys want to be squished in a truck the whole time, so we are stuck in Tulsa for now, sorry guys." Says Mr.Baker in a low voice.

We were all shocked and walked out of the building and sat on the side walk quietly,  until I see a car out of the corner of my eye coming up on the side walk and hitting Kassidy, we were all scared and yelled for Mr. Baker.

Mr. Baker screamed on the phone, and like 10 minutes later the ambulance showed up and took Kassidy along with Madelyn, Sarah, and me to the hospital, because Mr. Baker said at least 3 to a group. When we got to the hospital we were walking up the steps when all of the sudden, I see Madelyn take a hard fall up the stairs to the hospital and hit her head.....
