Grace was glad parent-teacher week was over and except for the moment with the Johnsons everything had been fine. It was now friday afternoon and she was sitting on her balcony enjoying the view of the Monaco harbour. She was expecting a call from Esteban any minute now, but she didn't want to disturb him by calling, so she just waited for him to call her.As she took a sip of her white wine her phone rang. "Hi Estie." She said as she answered her phone. "Miss Ocon." Sounded from the other side. Grace gasped and almost dropped the glass she was holding. She hadn't checked who had been calling her, expecting Esteban to call her. Nobody else ever called her. "Mr. Wolff. My apologies." Toto chuckled, he had noticed how she got nervous everytime he talked to her. He had noticed the first time he dropped Jack of and everytime after while he lingered in the classroom after dropping his son off and he had definetly noticed last night at the parent teacher conference. "I told you to call me Toto, didn't I." Madison hummed. "I'm sorry, Mr Wo-, I mean Toto." Madison was now standing on her balcony, leaning against the balustrade, one hand nervously playing with the hem of her shirt. "May I ask why you're calling on a friday evening?" Toto chuckled, he admired her for holding up the professional attitude, even when Toto really tried to break it.
"I just wanted to check up on you after the parent teacher meeting last night." Madison frowned, that was pretty unusual and very unprofessional. But she found it a very nice gesture. "I'm doing fine. Thank you." She muttered and then hesitated, not knowing what to say next. "Also, I have a slightly unprofessional question to ask you.." Madison held her breath, not knowing what the man was going to say next. "You see, my parents have fallen ill. Nothing bad, just the flu. And Susie is out of town." She could hear how Toto hesitated a little before asking her the next question. "I was wondering if you would mind to babysit Jack for the weekend. I'm stuck in Zandvoort for the GP and Susie is in Japan." Madison didn't say anything, pondering on what to do with this. "I will pay you." Toto said. "I will pay you, very well. But I need someone to take care of my son. My parents are unfit to do so." "Toto, it's fine. You do not need to pay me. I'll pick up Jack." She said without thinking after hearing the desperation in his voice. "Grace Ocon you are my saviour." Grace chuckled. "Just text me the adress and I'll go over there." Toto thanked the teacher of his son multiple times before ending the phonecall. It was pretty unorthodox to ask the teacher of your kid to pick him up at your house, but ever since the seperation with Susie making sure Jack had parental supervision had gotten a little harder. Susie had taken the seperation pretty hard, even tough she was the one who sugested it, and hadn't been around as much. Leaving Toto to take care of Jack and now with his parents falling ill, he didn't know anyone to look after his little Jackie so last minute. It was only when Sebastian had suggested Grace that he had even pondered on it. Sebastian had said that she used to look after his kids in emergency situations and that she wouldn't mind. However, Toto also knew that Sebastian and Grace had become friends over the years so that made it less unusual. But Toto really didn't know what else to do, so he called the beautiful French woman with the hopes she would comply with his strange request. And she did, so he had texted her his adress, which was were his mom was with Jack and thanked her, yet again.
Grace smiled as she read over the text from Toto and walked out of her appartement. It was a fifteen minute walk from her appartement to the adress Toto had given her. It was a nice night out so she didn't mind the brief walk she was sent on. She was surprised by the large building she stood in front. She had checked the adress several times, but she was sure this was it. It was a beautiful building with several penthouses. Ofcourse she shouldn't be surprised Toto lived in such a building, he was a multi-milionaire for gods sake. But still, she was impressed. The doorman had opened the door for the woman and she thanked him. "I'm here to pick up Jack Wolff." The doorman looked at her a little surprised but slowly nodded. "I'll call upstairs for you, just to check." Grace nodded, ofcourse the doorman needed to check. After a short call the doorman nodded and opened the elevator for her. "It's the 7th floor, you have the number right." Grace nodded and made her way inside the elevator.
The elevator ride was short and before she knew it she was knocking on the door. "It's open." A frail voice called from the otherside of the door. When she opened the door Grace was met with Jack who enthousiastically ran over to her. "Miss Gracie!" He called as he ran over to her, holding a toy car in his left hand. "Look daddy got me this car last week." He held up a miniature formula one car and smiled proudly. "That is very nice Jack." Grace smiled at the boy. "Am I going to stay with you till daddy comes back?" The little boy looked up at her with a big smile etched onto his face. Grace nodded. "Yes, your dad asked me to look after you, since your grandma isn't feeling to well." And with that Jacks grandma, Toto's mom, came walking into the hallway. She had a small smile on her face as she introduced herself to Grace. "Thank you for doing this." She smiled weakily. Grace just shook her head. "It's nothing. I hope you will feel better soon." Toto's mom nodded and handed Grace Jacks bag.
"Toto speaks very highly of you. That's the only reason I'm handing Jack off to you, otherwise I'd keep my little grandson right here with me, sick or not."She coughed a little and then smiled at Jack. "He's a little ray of sunshine." Grace smiled at the woman and nodded. "He is." Grace then noticed the woman coughing again and took Jack by his hand. "It's time for us to go, Jack, so that your grandma can rest." The woman smiled at Grace and silently thanked her. "Bye nanna." The little boy said and kissed his grandma on his cheek and Grace let Jack out of the appartment.
