Grace walked down the Monaco beach on that friday evening and let out a long sigh. She was still a little frustrated with everything that had been happening involving herself and Toto Wolff. She should've kept her distance in the first place. But the man had to be ever so charming. Ofcourse she developped feelings for the man, ever since he stepped foot in her classroom.
Grace sighed again as she took a seat on one of the benches over looking the beach and the ocean. Maybe Esteban had been right, maybe she should just steer off clearly from men in Formula one. After the disaster with Fernando and now the frustration she felt towards Toto, and she hadn't even been dating the latter.
"Gracie?" She looked up from the setting sun, settling down over the ocean and was met with the dark brown coloured eyes of none other than Lewis Hamilton. "Lewis. Hi." She breathed as she smiled softly at him, not getting a bigger smile out of herself. At this Lewis frowned, he swore the two of them left on good terms after the last GP.
"You allright?" Grace nodded and shrugged. "It's okay." She smiled. "Just pondering." Lewis hummed and took a seat next to her. "Shouldn't you finish your run?" Grace asked the athlete as he sat down next to her. She noticed his outfit and knew he was on a run, and she really hoped he'd continue his run as she suggested. She was in no mood to be around anyone formula one related. Lewis shrugged. "I'm almost done, so a little break shouldn't hurt." Grace hummed an nodded, not saying anything.
"So, what's wrong?" Lewis asked the girl and she just shook her head. "Trouble at work?" Grace slowly nodded. "You could call it that." Not elaborating any further. "I don't want to talk about it." She huffed. "I'll get over it." Lewis nodded and chose to follow her wishes. It was silent between them for a little while before Lewis started talking again.
"So next week's the Russian Grand Prix." He stated carefully and looked at the woman next to him. He watched as her blonde hair blew in the wind and shimmered under the setting sun. Even with the frown etched on her face, she still held so much beauty, Lewis was taken aback by it a little. But before he got lost by her beauty he continued the conversation. "Are you joing Toto and Jack again?" Grace scoffed at this involuntarily, but Lewis caught it anyway. "Did something happen between you two?" Grace shook her head. "Nothing worth mentioning." She just huffed and Lewis frowned. "But you won't be seeing me in the company of Toto or Jack again." She muttered. Lewis frowned again and wanted to ask what she meant by it, but Grace cut him off. "Please, leave it Lewis, it's fine. But I won't be back in the Mercedes garage." And with that she stood up from the bench she'd been sitting on. "You should continue your run, before you cool off too much." She stated and smiled at Lewis. "Bye Lewis, I'll see you around." And with that she walked away from the World Champion.
Lewis was a little baffled. He hadn't encountered Grace a lot, but over the last few times he'd spent time with her he grew to like her. And normally he noticed, she had this bubbly personality. So this caused Lewis to become a little concerned for the woman since she was acting cold and distant all of a sudden. Instead of doing the plausible thing and letting it go he decided to text Esteban, making sure the girl was okay. He then continued his run.
Grace huffed as she closed the door behind her, phone in pressed to her left ear. Just her luck. She had to run into Lewis on today of all days. Ofcourse he'd be concerned for her, the fucking good guy he is, and ofcourse he decided to message Esteban the minute she walked away from him. And now she had Esteban to deal with.
"I am fine Esteban." She snapped. "As I said seven seconds ago; it was just a busy day at work." Esteban huffed. "Grace, I can tell when you're lying..." Ofcourse the siblings could tell by only hearing the other talk. They were thick as thieves. But at this moment Grace just wanted to be left alone. "Grace, come on." Grace shook her head. "No i'm not talking about it. It's fine. I'll be fine." Esteban sighed and hummed. "Fine, but if anything happens or if you want to talk about whatever is bothering you, just call. Okay?" Grace hummed. "I'm sorry Estie. Just not in the mood." Esteban chuckled and promised his sister it was okay and on that note the conversation between the Ocon siblings ended.
Grace was finally ready to relax and forget about everything. She turned off her phone, grabbed a bottle of white wine and settled down on her couch. She grabbed the remote control and opened Netflix and started to continue to binge Gilmore Girls where she left off.
She'd been on her third glass of wine and in the midst of another episode of gilmore girls when someone had the audacity to ring her doorbell. With a lot of movement and cursing Grace finally stood up from her couch as the person kept ringing the bell.
"What?" She huffed as she answered the intercom. "Grace?" Ofcourse Lewis couldn't let it go. She huffed. She knew the guy for like a week and yet he was already concerned for her? "Go away Lewis." She huffed down the intercom. She turned away from the intercom but before she was able to sit down, the doorbell rang again. Only this time it was her frontdoor. Grace groaned loudly, hoping Lewis would hear it.
She shuffled towards the door and opened it hesitantly. "What?" She asked again, frowning up at the world champion. Lewis chuckled. "Esteban mentioned you were still in a foul mood." Grace huffed and was about to close the door in his face but Lewis was quicker and had placed his hand and foot between the door. "Not happening princess." Grace rolled her eyes and just walked back to her couch, grabbing her glass of wine and settling back underneath her blanket. "I'm not talking. So if you want to stay, sit down, shut up and watch gilmore girls with me." She bit and then pressed play. She glanced over at Lewis once more and sighed. "Glasses are in the kitchen, you can either drink wine with me or help yourself to something else. I have water and whatever's still in the fridge." And with that she focussed her eyes back on her tv screen.
It had taken two and a half episode, before Grace finally acknowledged Lewis again. He had been watching the serie with her, but most of the time he had been glancing at the girl.
"Why are you here Lewis?" Lewis shrugged, he didn't really know what led him here. "Well, you were not quite yourself. And i thought maybe you wanted some company." He paused before continuing "You know, not be all alone." At this Grace gave the Brit a small smile. Lewis grinned as he noticed the small smile. "I'm glad you can at least give me a little smile again. Mission accomplished." Lewis then looked at his watch. "I hope I didn't bother you too much. I hope you're feeling better, but it's getting late..." Grace nodded. "Thank you Lewis. I'm genuinely in a better mood now. And I'm sorry for my stubbornness and rude behaviour." Lewis chuckled and shrugged, telling the girl it was okay. Grace walked the athlete to her front door. "Thanks Lewis. In hindsight it was nice to have some company, even though we didn't talk much." Lewis smiled at the girl and pulled her in a hug. "No problem." He squeezed her a little tighter and then let go, before walking away.
Before he was out of sight he turned around and gave the girl another wave, as if he knew she was watching him leave.
