# Chapter Two

Dana took a closer look at specfically 'Maths'. Noticing she had Math almost everyday except for Thursdays, she let out a large groan. She absolutely *********despised********* math, and even the thought of doing endless equations was enough to make her feel physically ill. Still, there wasn't much she could do about it now. What made her feel more worse was knowing she had it first period today, Mondays were about to get a ******whole****** lot more awful.

Folding up the piece of paper and shoving it in her cardigan pocket harshly, Dana then went to go search for her friends. But, she couldn't see them. In fact, she couldn't see *******anyone******* she knew. The hall was still over-crowded with kids, some noisily complaining about the classes they were given, while some kids were...actually enjoying this? Weirdos. If Hell was an actual place, let it be Beecher Prep Middle School's hall.

Mr Tushman's voice suddenly rang out from the stage. "The 7th graders will be here shortly to take you on your tour around the school, the teaching assistants will sort you into lines by homeroom group, please wait as patiently and silently as possible." Of course, no 5th grader would usually have obeyed that, but with teaching assistants pushing you into place, clearly taking no nonsense from anyone, you just had to.

The doors pushed open to reveal around 7 older kids, probably the 7th graders, being led in by another teacher. Dana stared in confusion, shouldn't there be 6? There was only 6 homeroom groups, after all. The teacher began sorting the 7th graders by the homeroom groups they were touring. Dana felt her heart practically drop into her stomach the moment she saw ****two**** 7th graders approaching them. She wasn't scared of 7th graders. More so annoyed by them.

"Um...hey guys!" One with blonde hair and glasses introduced herself. "I'm Allison and this is my friend Sarah!" The girl, who was called Allison turned to another person beside her, one with brown hair and hazel eyes. Allison nudged Sarah on the shoulder. "C'mon Sarah, say hi to the kids.."

"What? Hello...I guess." And from the look on Sarah's face, Dana could tell they hated being there as much as she did. Who could blame them? 7th graders technically had one day of summer break left, and it was spent touring a bunch of snot-nosed kids around a school. Horrible.

The two 7th graders led the group of 5C (their homeroom group) out of the hall. Allison did most of the talking (there wasn't much, she was socially awkward), with Sarah making a few backhanded comments here and there, and the two getting into intense arguments. In front of 5th graders. Dana found it extremely funny.

"Sooo...here's an eraser." Sarah picked up the object. They had reached the science corridor, one of the last parts of the tour, and it seemed Sarah was finally making an effort. They laughed a bit before teasing: "Well, it's not like you guys are *********actually********* smart enough to know what an eraser is. Isn't that right, Ally?" Allison snorted noisily for about half a millisecond before realising what she was doing. It seemed she found Sarah's jokes funny after all, and that she was only acting like she wasn't impressed so none of the 5th graders would snitch.

Instead, Allison turned to look at Sarah with a death glare before returning to the kids. "Guys, just wait here a minute. Me and Sarah need to have a talk...privately." Turning to look at Sarah again as she paused. The two went to the nearby storage room for some privacy, but in reality, you could hear everything they were saying.

"Why did you say that Sarah?!"

"Because I have free choice Allison!"

"Yeah, but you know how kids are! They'll snitch and ******we'll****** get into trouble with Mr Tushman. You don't want that do you?"

"I didn't even want to do this."

"Well you agreed to this."

"You forced me to come here! I didn't want to tour stupid kids around!"

"I didn't you BITCH-"

The two loudly gasped- Allison realising the kids probably overheard that and Sarah because they were just called a bitch. Both of them quickly rushed out of the storage room and slammed the door shut. None of them said anything, but the 7th graders gave the 5th graders a look that screamed: "Tell anyone about this and you're dead."

So they didn't. None of them mentioned anything- although it was extremely awkward after that. Luckily the tour ended not long after the incident, and everyone was more than happy about that, shuffling off to look for their classes. Thankfully Maths 4 wasn't far from where the tour finished, so Dana found it fine.

When she arrived a number of students were already in the room, just standing at the wall. No one knew if there was going to be a seating plan or not, and no one assumed anything. Dana was relieved to see Julian, Jack and Charlotte enter the room- she hadn't got the chance to talk to them during the tour or after they got their schedules. Julian immediately went beside her. "Hi."

"Hi." Dana responded as Mr Baller entered the room, their Math teacher. He was bald but was wearing a red cap. He announced, "Welcome to my math class. First of all, there will be a seating plan so stay where you are." A loud groan echoed. Nobody likes seating plans, especially because most of the time they seperate you from your friends.

Mr Baller pulled out a notepad and began reading. "First table at the front, Jack, Charlotte, Summer, Kassy, Zach, Emma, Ophelia, Emily and Hannah. Second table, Christopher, Camilo, Doris, Noah, Miles, Sophie, Luke, James and Izzy. Third and last table at the back, Rocco, Julian, Dana, Atticus, Marie, Matthew, Mikey and Conor. Take your seats everyone."

Everyone began sitting down while Dana sighed to herself. Great, now nearly ****all**** the exchange students were sitting at their table. Well, at least she had Julian...but it was still going to be a long, long ride...
