"What?" Cross asked, looking at Killer as they explained the story of Nightmare to him. Killer chuckled, "Yea, it's a lot to take in." Cross fiddled with his zipper, trying to decipher everything he just heard. "So... he got jumped.... Ate a forbidden apple that he had to guard... Turned into what he is now....ran off was it? What? I'm so confused?" Cross muttered.

"Well then, what have we here?" They heard from the doorway. "Oh Nightmare. Cross was curious about what we found out on our own about you so we caught him up." Dust explained. At least he was taking the blame this time. "Well then, I think it's about time I caught all of you up. Y'all still overly curious about my past?" Horror and Dust nodded. "Alright you 4. Get comfortable. Let's see, where to start.....

"Woah, you mean we have to guard the tree in your place?!" Dream chuckled, practically jumping up and down as NIghtmare read the note. All he knew was that one minute he didn't exist and the next, the two were their by a mysterious tree. The note claimed the 'brothers' were obligated to guard this magical tree and use its power for purely good. Apparently the gold apples healed people and the dark ones did the opposite. That was the part of the tree he had to guard. Apparently no one was allowed to get their hand on it. It would make them dangerous.

"I guess. Apparently my name is Nightmare, the dark prince, and your Dream, the light prince. Why do I get these dangerous ones? I wanna help people too." Nightmare whined. Dream took a gold apple and gave it to him. "Well, it's probably because you're the only one that can protect people from using their powers for evil. I can do it, only you can." Dream explained, trying to convince him that he was still important. Nightmare grinned, taking a bite out of the apple. He suddenly felt way better. It was like it made his emotions positive.

"Woah, so that's where it all started. That's so cool. You just woke up existing one day?" Killer asked, getting really into the story. "Yup, and as we grew up, we stayed really close. However, one day, the villagers started spreading mean rumors about me. Some said I was dangerous. Some said I was mean. When in reality, I was just way shyer than Dream. He was definitely an extrovert. I was the opposite..."

Dream had to go to the village to get some food for our house. Nightmare eagerly asked him if he could go. Dream chuckled, nodding his head and motioning for him to follow. As they entered, he noticed lots of people staring and running away or pointing. It sucked. What sucked even more is that no matter how much Dream tried to convince them he wasn't a monster like they said, they still believed all these rumors.

"Don't worry brother. I'm sure they're just in a rush. I haven't heard any new rumors in awhile." Dream nervously chuckled. He was lying and Nightmare knew it. He could sense it, but he stayed quiet. At least Dream was trying to help and cheer him up. "Hey Dream, can you come here real quick? We need help with something." A villager yelled towards him. "Op, I'll be right back ok. Are you alright with staying here?" Dream asked, handing Nightmare his basket. Nightmare grinned, nodding in response.

A minute or so after he ran off. He heard footsteps approaching him. As he went to turn around, he was kicked to the ground. "Look. It's the worse version of Dream." He heard as he was kicked again. "Hey!" He yelled as tears slipped from his sockets. "Why are you here? You know nobody likes you." One of them said as he was held up by his collar in front of her face. "Dream brought me. Leave me alone. I didn't do anything." He wheeped, trying to pull away.
