JUNGKOOK POV

My heart almost stopped beating when I heard the faint echo of a gunshot coming from the villa.

I shook the guy I was holding around the throat.

"What did you do?"

The guy just laughed maliciously as if he had never heard anything funnier.

"Worried about your pretty little mate Prince? You should be."

"We're never going to let bloodsuckers like him rule us."

"He's an abomination!"

I roared as I tossed him as
hard and as far as I could.

I barely acknowledged the sickening thud he made as he
hit a tree.

I was too busy taking flight and heading back toward the villa.

Within moments, I reached the villa.

I landed on the stone patio right outside the French doors to my study and shifted.

Three gryphons landed next to me.

They immediately shifted into Tai, Sisko and Sai.

Three of four gryphons I trusted most in the world.

"Sir." Tai started.

"We heard another gunshot."

I pushed the French doors open and stepped inside my study.

I didn't see anything so I lifted my nose into the air and took
a strong sniff.

There was a definite hint of gunpowder in the air but I could also smell the distinctive scents of four different people but they were all scents I recognized.

I hurried over to my desk to release the locks on the security door on the panic room.

I'd never had to use myself but it had been there for ages and I had kind of forgotten about it until I mated Jimin.

Now, it was a godsend.

Except it wasn't working.

The door wouldn't open.

I hit it several times before giving up and racing over door
to the panic room.

I tried to force it open and yank it open but it wouldn't budge.

"Help me!"

Tai and Sai rushed over to help me pull on the door but nothing helped.

It was built to be locked from
the inside for a reason.

I tried to dig my claws into the metal of the door but it was made with titanium and steel.

All I did was put deep claw
marks in it.

Maybe that was the answer.

"Rip it apart!"

The four of us started slashing
at the panic room walls with
our claws.

It was taking way too long and
I was terrified that we wouldn't reach Jimin in time.

"kitten." I sent through our link.

"hang in there."

"I'm coming."

"Jungkook."

His voice sounded so weak that
I started working harder at tearing through the wall.

"I'm coming love, I swear."

"Not safe, Guard."

"I have Tai, Sai and Sisko here with me. I'm well guarded."
