Unsaid emotions bloomed between Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan at school, but they were driven apart by animosity rooted in their hearts because of Jiang Zhuocheng.
Ten years later, they find themselves face-to-face once again, the tension between them pal...
Late at night, while some are getting ready for bed and others are already asleep, Zhan stands on the balcony and thinks about all the incidents that have happened in his life, both then and now. Perhaps the incidents are different, but everything belongs to him, prepares for him, or depends on him. Whoever doesn't like it can refuse, but the one who lives and breathes within can't.
He can't. He can't refuse anything, but that doesn't mean he can watch his bandmates' hard work and dedication slip away because of him. He has to do something... or his, no, their pride will be defeated.
He blinks his eyes and focuses on the street below, reflecting on the choices he has made throughout his life. "No one can defeat anyone until the time they accept defeat themselves. This story will also be the one." He clutches his fingers on the railing, watching the many routes and paths that lie before him. He has many choices, just like this busy street, to change the direction of this story... his story...

"The next step in our little game is..." The words hang in the air, lingering like smoke, yet no less vivid than neon. His mind makes it up, but his body is unsure and goes into a panic that shoots through him like a bullet, taking out his knees and lungs.
He sits on the floor and pulls his knees to his chest, resting his head there. He considers his decision once again, but his body keeps still, refusing to calm down. This is unusual for Zhan. He's typically composed, possesses a rational mind, and isn't bothered much.
He lets out heavy breaths and tries to tear the invisible shackles from his body, which only makes things worse. Frustrated, he stands up and kicks the wall, screaming at himself to pull it together. He brushes his dark strands of hair from his face and paces back and forth, trying to regain control of his emotions. "Take it easy, Zhan. Breathe in and out. Just relax. Everything will be fine."
Once his breathing returns to its normal rhythm, he checks on his brother once and makes sure the other won't wake up until morning. Then, on tiptoe, he slips his phone into his pocket and applies some scent blockers before leaving the room. He feels stupid, so stupid, but he has to do it.
There isn't a person in sight as he keeps walking, trying to locate the room where he found out Yibo is staying. Approaching the door, he stares at it for a few minutes, reconsidering his decision. Even though he feels ready for the world, facing Yibo is something he isn't quite prepared for. However, fate has determined that he must confront him.
With conviction in his heart, he acknowledges the missteps he has made throughout his life but is certain that what he is doing now is right. "Yibo?" he calls out, trying not to draw attention to himself.
He knocks on the door tentatively a few times. He knocks again and gets no response, so he decides to test the door. It's open.
With caution, he enters the room and takes in the sight of an open suitcase, clothes scattered on the couch, a pair of sunglasses, and a wallet on the coffee table. He makes a quick sweep of the room and discovers no one in sight. "Where could this lunatic possibly be?" he asks aloud.
