Chapter 16 : No Way Out

Zero takes a deep breath and draws out his sword, feeling the cool metal in his grip as he surveys their surroundings.

"We need to move fast." he says to Sasha, glancing over at her. "Stay close and keep an eye out for any trouble."

He nods to Skyler and Flame, indicating that they should follow him as they set off on their mission. The world outside is a dangerous place, but Zero is determined to keep Sasha and the others safe

"Make sure you're all ready for anything" he says, scanning their surroundings. "Who knows what kind of monsters we'll run into out here."

With Sasha by his side, Zero feels a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Whatever happens, he knows that he will do whatever it takes to protect her.

Sasha nods silently, her eyes scanning the desolate streets for any signs of danger. She clutches her katana tightly in her grip, her knuckles turning white from the effort.

Together, the quartet moves quietly through the abandoned buildings, searching for anything that might be useful. Sasha keeps close to Zero, feeling comforted by his presence and determined to prove herself as a capable fighter.

"Sky, have you spotted any good places we can take a look at for supplies? Your knack for scouting always comes in handy." He asks, turning his head back to him.

"Wala Bro. Madaming Zombies yung favorite shop ko na nadaanan natin kanina."

"Psh! Duwag ka lang. Aminin mo na lang."

"Aba Flafla! Eh kung ikaw na lang kaya pumasok doon?!"

"BAKIT AKO--"

"Both of you, shut the fuck up! The zombies could be anywhere and we don't want to attract them. Keep your voices low and let's stick together." Zero reminds them in a whisper tone.

"Guys... We should head down this way," Sasha murmurs, pointing towards a narrow alleyway. "I think I saw a grocery store a few blocks over."

Zero nods in agreement, his eyes flickering over to her with a small smile. "Good thinking. Let's move out."

"Sana may ice cream uwuu.." mahinang bulong ni Sasha.

As they make their way through the maze-like streets, the tension in the air begins to build. Every shadow seems to hold a hidden threat, and Sasha can feel her heart pounding in her chest with every step they take.

Suddenly, a low rumble echoes through the streets, followed by a deafening roar. The ground beneath them trembles as a numerous zombies emerges from the shadows, its glowing eyes locked onto the group.

Zero steps forward, his sword gleaming in the light as he prepares to face the monster head-on. Sasha feels an icy terror race through her veins as the creatures charges towards them, but she stands her ground, ready to fight alongside Zero.

"We can take them down," Zero says firmly, his voice steady and confident. "Stick together, and we'll get through this."

With that, the fight is on. The screeching clash of metal against flesh fills the air as they work together to fend off the creatures, their movements swift and precise.

After an intense battle, the creatures finally falls to the ground, defeated. Zero breathes heavily as he sheaths his sword, his eyes scanning their surroundings for any other threats.

Sasha's heart races with adrenaline, and she can feel sweat dripping down her forehead.

"You did great," Zero says to her, his voice soft with admiration. "You're a natural fighter...."

Sasha blushes at the compliment but feels a sense of pride swell within her.

"How bout me bro? Wala bang papuri diyan?" Skyler ask, his eyes narrowing playfully.

"Papuri? Eh pabigat ka lang namang animal ka!" Flame hissed.

"Ikaw ba tinatanong ko Flafla?!"

Sasha rolls her eyes at their banter, feeling a sense of amusement despite the danger that surrounds them.

Moments like these helps to keep her grounded and remind her that there's more to life than just surviving.

As they continue down the dark and empty streets, Sasha can't help but feel a sense of unease settle in the pit of her stomach. She glances around, wondering if they're being watched or followed by something lurking in the shadows.

Suddenly, she hears a faint rustling sound behind her. She whips around, her katana ready, but sees nothing. The sound echoes again, louder this time.

"Did you hear that?" she whispers to her companions, her eyes darting back and forth.

"Mukhang may next batch pa tayong makakaharap." Skyler let out a heavy sigh as he ready his dagger.

Zero nods gravely, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "We need to be on our guard." he says in a low voice. "

"Affirmative." Flame said, holding her gun tightly. She also bring her fighting fan with her.

With that, they move forward cautiously, their senses heightened as they search for any signs of danger.

As they progress, Sasha can see the outlines of what appears to be a horde of zombies in the dim light a few blocks ahead. She slows down and points at the imminent danger to Zero, Flame and Sky.

"Looks like we're about to face another big challenge," Sasha whispers, as her eyes survey the threat from a distance.

Zero nods grimly, his eyes locked onto the approaching horde. "We have to be smart about this," he says, his voice steady. "There's no point in rushing in blindly and risking our lives."

Sasha takes a deep breath and readies herself for battle, feeling the weight of the katana in her hand. "Whatever happens, we need to stick together and watch each other's backs," she says, her tone resolute. "We can't afford to let our guard down."

Sky surveys the situation in front of them, and his eyes widen as he takes in the sheer number of zombies. "This isn't going to be easy," he murmurs.

"W-wait, may mga paparating pa..." Flame said.

"Oh no..." Her eyes still locked onto the approaching horde.

"Holy shit!!! Ang dami nila!!!"
